My in-laws never take their tree down. The first time I met them it was June and it was still up and decorated.

My goal is New Years day every year. I rarely meet that goal.
Shit is still up and I keep saying I'll get to it and I just haven't yet.
*sigh* maybe by next week.

I think this weekend, due to it being Epiphany Sunday (marking when the 3 wise men reached the manger), is the "traditional" time to take decorations down - as it's the "official" end of the Christmas season for the church. Anytime between now and the end of the month should be acceptable, though. When you're getting into February and they're still up it's getting weird. That said, I always put a strand or 2 of lights in my bedroom and keep that up until March.

Personal preference? the first weekend after, but since things do get crazy during that time, the first weekend after New Year's is acceptable.
Beyond that is madness. MADNESS

I am a single man with my own place so I say screw decorations and don't put any up. When I was a kid we had a family friend who kept his decorations up until August.

Well my tree is still up. Mainly because weather been shitty to take it down and put it in the shed. Could done it Sunday but it Rained all day Sat so the ground was all muddy. The next day off I have is Wed and it going too but butt cold outside I really don't want to mess with it. I could take it down and box it then I be tripping over it. I'm just waiting until Sat.

I usually take my down on the 26th,but this year we barely decorated. All we have is a two in one festivus pole/christmas tree. It's still up because I like the lights at night. I am sure we will take it down tomorrow or so.

If not in a few days, just leave 'em all year. It doesn't matter. Busybodies in your community are already burying you.
I say you get a few days to just relax and eff with your new stuff, but they really shouldn't survive the year.

Almost all my stuff is down save for a few Santas and fake snow on the mantle, which i'll likely take down tommorow. OTOH, Wreaths (at least the artifical ones) can hang on doors for longer IMO (at least through Spring).

13 days after Christmas. Some people like to do the 12 days thing.

In Scandinavia it's traditionally January 13th, 20 days after Christmas.
