The thing is, that the soda in these smaller cans will cost more per ounce than what we are getting now. Soft drinks have joined drugs and promiscuous sex on the list of things that we didn't know were bad for us back in the day. Granted, they aren't getting rid of the regular size cans, but who knows what will happen if this takes off. Here's one of the sillier passages from this article regarding the price some are willing to pay, and why... “Coca-Cola is so delicious, but it’s like sun tanning or cigarettes — they’re these wonderful things that we now know are horrible for us,” said Lauren Utvich, a 31-year-old food stylist in New York, who bought the Coke mini-cans when she first spotted them. Utvich doesn’t normally drink soda, but she likes that the mini-cans turn Coke into a relatively guiltless treat. But that’s not the only reason she bought them. “Let’s be honest. I like them because they’re freaking adorable,” said Utvich, who didn’t pay attention to how much they cost. So basically, they are doing what everyone else is doing, cutting portion sizes and raising the price, only this time, they made an announcement. Hopefully the regular cans will stay the same price.. |

I think the solution to this, rather than paying more for less, is to get a 22 ounce bottle, then have a little self-control when you think you've had too much and put the lid on it for later.

The mini cans have been around for years on plane flights.
The solution is to do more exercise, soft drinks are fine as a part of a healthy balanced diet/lifestyle.

Maybe they should use the tagline "Drink Responsibly" for sodas like they do for alcohol. It's a shame, we've gotten to that point, where this sounds plausible |

Yeah we have had smaller cans in grocery stores for a long while now. Yeah, they are "cute" but they are more expensive. I just buy a 6-pack of bottles. I know it's bad for me, but hey. Being addicted coca cola is a hell of a lot better than being addicted to coke. So I have no shame.

I mean, it basically is flavored water with corn syrup. But smaller cans and bottles really aren't the answer to anything.

I find regular coke disgusting now. I've been drinking coke zero for years and now drinking the regular stuff just tastes weird to me. Also, I know when I went to the UK, they had smaller coke bottles and cans.

The McDonalds coffee lawsuit wasn't someone drinking coffee not realising it'd be hot. They'd heated it to absurd degrees (between 180 and 190 degrees fahrenheit, far above most other coffee shops) in a styrofoam cup, and the woman received third degree burns to 6% of her body, including her genitals. Third degree burns are serious stuff, this isn't 'ow, my tongue', this is the kind of burn that can lead to amputation of body parts in the worst cases. She sued for the amount her hospital bills cost as a result of their negligence. The media have done a wonderful job of making people think 'haha dumb American suing over coffee' when McDonalds were entirely at fault for giving something hazardous out over the counter. |

Although we have had those mini cans and mini bottles for years it seems, they were always more like $3.99. Hopefully with this getting a press release and going nationwide, the price point will be more affordable. |

They make no sense that they charge more for it than the 20 oz. sodas.
