So that news of the Pizza Guy who got jipped by bringing back the $7 he assumed was a tip and he ended up with a $0.00 tip from a $42 bill.
So to all of you, do you have a certain percentage you tip?

15% is my minimum, unless the service is really bad it could be 0%.

If there's a "delivery fee" then less than if delivery was free. But generally 20%, same as I'd tip a server.

Nothing
I'm really baffled by the love of tipping over in America. You don't tip your garbageman for taking away your bins, your hairdresser for doing a good job with your new style, your dentist for ensuring your teeth are healthy or the copper patrolling your neighbourhood yet for some reason the guy who carries food to you gets a tip?

Its about pay structure, unfortunately. Delivery drivers, servers are paid shit out here because of the tipping system (which i would love to see abolished in favor of a mandatory minimum living wage). Garbage men are paid VERY well as its basically a government contract job. Cops too. Your dentist gets paid by the insurance company (usually) and people will often tip their hairdresser, if not they can set their own price so tipping them is superfluous.

Somewhere between 10% and 15%. I admit to tipping only because of it being a social norm, not out of appreciation or anything. Not that I'm not appreciative, but like mentioned above, I don't understand the inconsistency when it comes to tipping.

At least 25%. I'm a frustratingly good tipper. Those servers have a thankless job so I try to make them feel good.

I always give 40%. I believe it's important to reward hard working people.

If there's a "delivery fee" then less than if delivery was free. But generally 20%, same as I'd tip a server. The driver does not get that money. Working for Pizza Hut you get paid $4 an hour when on a delivery, they charge a $3 delivery charge and the driver makes $.33 a mile, one way. Since most deliveries are at most three miles away the driver usually comes away with less than $1 while the store pockets the rest. Domino's and Papa John's are pretty much identical. I worked as a driver for Pizza Hut a year ago as a second job and made less than minimum wage both nights. Third night I told the manager to take a hike. Tip at least 20% for good service. Waiters get paid less but they are not paying for gas and putting wear and tear on their cars. Tip at least 20% for good service. For takeout it depends on the situation. If it is a pizza place generally no tip is necessary. The person working the counter is getting paid at least minimum. Tip for good service at your discretion. For takeout at a sit down restaurant the person taking your order and putting it together once it is cooked is usually a bartender or waitress. So your order is taking them away from the in store customers. Tip at least 10%. All is dependent on good service but remember many things are beyond the servers control. If you feel things are so bad that you will not leave a tip ask to speak to the manager. Otherwise if the problem is with the kitchen they will not hear of it, or if the problems are the servers they will just call you a cheapskate and not make any effort to improve.

I don't like paying a delivery fee + a tip, so I will always go drive myself to get the pizza.

More than I should, less than they deserve. That sounds dickish but in Wyoming, as a server (that's my job), you only have to be paid base wage because you make tips. Most of the time, that doesn't equal up to a living wage.

We actually do tip our hairdressers. We also don't directly pay our garbagemen, in some states they're paid by the government and in others (like New York) they're privately hired by whoever owns the property. Cops are government employees too. Dentists are paid by insurance companies, who in turn are paid by who we work for. Just know if you ever come to the states, you have to tip. Otherwise you're being disrespectful and not paying for services rendered.

I tip whenever I can, but I really can't stand the mindset that a tip is an obligation rather than a bonus.

My grandpa always taught me that a good tip in a place you go to often is the equivalent of buying VIP treatment and I've always found him to have a point. Everybody wins like that. There's this one Brazilian steakhouse near Toronto I go to quite often and I always get served WAY above the call. God I love that place. Worth the slightly above average tip.

If you can't tip and you're in America, you shouldn't be ordering delivery or going out to eat.

delivery usually like 15 percent unless it's really shitty out or something. dine in places it depends on how well the service was but unless there is some massive egregious problem (and it'd have to be pretty damn big) I will always leave something usually between 15-20% Somewhere between 10% and 15%. I admit to tipping only because of it being a social norm, not out of appreciation or anything. Not that I'm not appreciative, but like mentioned above, I don't understand the inconsistency when it comes to tipping. Most servers and delivery guys rely on the tips to live because they make less than minimum wage.
