Why is Hogan's head a different color than his body? On the subject of He-Man, anyone else think that She-Ra holds up better as a cartoon? It still has a lot of the campy nature of He-Man, but it just seems better to me. Plus, Hordak>Skeletor. Somebody modded it to make Ichiban Hogan

Anyone been reading Eternity War? A lot of He-Man fans seem to really dig it, but I am finding it hilariously bad. He-Man and Skeleter have seemingly powered up/powered down/gotten new looks/gotten new powers a dozen times in this series that is only on issue 14. The art has steadily gone off the rails, and we keep hearing how freaking important She-Ra is but she never really seems to do anything. In fact, the only noteworthy thing she did was foolishly trust Skeletor and then get betrayed. I'd love to see IDW work their magic on He-Man the way they have Transformers, Ninja Turtles, and Jem. Thing is........Mattel meddles. A lot of what was done in this most recent DC He-Man series were directives from Mattel. The writers (Robinson, Giffen, Abnett) were essentially working off a plot developed elsewhere. It even got to the point where guys at Mattel were getting credits on the MOTU TPBs, even thought they never had credits in the single issues. And all this for a property that wasn't even being developed in an active toy line. IDW and Hasbro have a good relationship because Hasbro moreorless leave the creative/story elements up to IDW. The comics work in new designs and what not, but the level of "interference" is not what it was like back in the '80s. Mattel would probably want a heavy hand in the storytelling. That......might not work if IDW is involved. (Besides, IDW is *really* Hasbro-centric nowadays. I would imagine a Mattel property would get muscled out or be dissuaded to even brother...)

Yep the character guide is already on my wish list.
No the greatest book of all (or tied for first) will be when/if Mark Bellomo or someone finally does a proper guide to the figure lines!!! Transformers have had several good ones, so have Star Wars and G.I. Joe, now it's MOTU's turn!!!!
The minicomic one is on my Kindle and my book of choice right now. Just finished the four introductory comics/glorified little storybooks and the real fun's beginning. Got done with Man-E-Faces and Ram Man's origins, now onto Terror of Tri-Klops.
How's the weekly newspaper comics? Worth getting that book too? I do wish someone could compile the pre-2002 full-sized various MOTU comics, but probably rights issues, no? And a DC/Marvel fissure at one point to boot.

Martel has transferred the Classics line to a smaller company, so anyone collecting those will be seeing some changes ahead.
I myself do not buy the new line up because they don't connect to my memories.

I recently had the opportunity to buy a collection of MOTU stuff from a local shop and bought pretty much all of it. Got the original He-Man, Clawful, Buzz-Off, Triclops, Stratos, Stinkor, Beastman, Mossman, Zodac, Whiplash, Two-Bad, Man-At-Arms, Webster, Roboto, Sy-Clone, Kobra Kahn, Man-E-Faces, Fisto, Jitsu, Trap-Jaw, Ram-Man, Mekaneck, a Road Ripper and a collector carrying case. Felt like a kid again. They are awesome.

and now teh same artist drew the villain that launched thousands of debates... "Scare Glow, the evil ghost of Skeletor!" He was clearly meant to be a different character for the record... I mean Faker was the Evil Robot of Skeletor. Edit: and also Manny Face!

I loved the cartoon and still have most of the toys in my attic. I also have Castle Greyskull and Snake Mountain. I have a ton of original He-Man stuff.

Very glad to see this finally announced. I was originally on board with it as one of the writers, but had to drop out shortly after production began. Did get one of my Marvel Handbook co-writers a spot in my place, though.

Remember this old playground jingle
(hum to the MOTU theme)
"I have the power to lift up a flower, it takes me an hour or so..."

New comic book is getting "meh" reviews :/ Would this be the HE-MAN/THUNDERCATS comics that started yesterday? Art was beyond beautiful, but the story was.....ok, for now. It's a back to basics story, though - ignoring the continuity that DC's recently concluded He-Man series established, but at least it sees the original incarnations of these characters all meeting up.

You've got that right, buddy! Humanity can never fully repay for this glorious moment Skeletor gave us. Frank Langella was amazing as Skeletor, but the thing that stands out the most to me in that clip was that I was reminded just how gorgeous Meg Foster (Evil-Lyn) was at that time. She and Chelsea Field (Teela) set some high standards for me as far as women go back in that time (I know, how was it not Courteney Cox from that same film?)
