haven't commented on Wilson here yet, just haven't found the words.
from what I've seen he was a great racer but a greater person that will be missed by a lot of people.

Amazing finish at Sonoma - Scott Dixon wins the race and the championship after forcing a tie with Montoya for the points lead and winning the tiebreaker with most wins with 3 to Montoya's 2.

Hell of a race. Kind of feel sorry for Montoya, not that it takes away from Dixon's championship. I just hate gimmicks in racing like double points or the chase.

Not a fan of the double points either, but Montoya benefited from the double points too though, when he won at Indianapolis. His points lead would have been smaller coming in to this race without that.

So in the Sprint Cup series, there are 2 more races before The Chase begins. Here are the drivers who are in the Chase, just as long as they attempt to qualify next week:
1. Jimmie Johnson 2. Kyle Busch 3. Joey Logano 4. Matt Kenseth 5. Kevin Harvick 6. Dale Earnhardt Jr. 7. Kurt Busch 8. Brad Keselowski 9. Martin Truex Jr. 10. Denny Hamlin 11. Carl Edwards
And currently the 5 biggest non-winners are:
12. Jamie McMurray 13. Ryan Newman 14. Paul Menard 15. Jeff Gordon 16. Clint Bowyer
Outside the top 16 who can still make it that high are Aric Almirola, Kasey Khane, and Greg Biffle. Everyone else in the Top 30 (Dillon, Larson, Patrick, Mears, Allmendinger, Ragan, Hornish Jr., Stewart, Bayne, Stenhouse Jr., and Allgaier) would need to win to make it in.

I would love for Paul Menard to be the Ryan Newman of this year's Chase.

This Darlington throwback thing is awesome. Yeah, loving all the old NBC stuff and now the Mean Joe Greene commercial for Coke.

Oh, it is the 4 for me easily. Something about that amber colored car with the true throwback logos that is just beautiful to me.

Disappointed one of the throwback cars didn't win. I was pulling for Harvick at the end. But its always a good day when Cousin Carl is backflipping into victory lane. Also, Darlington was temporarily renamed, thanks to the 19 crew.

Wasn't sure where to put this, and didn't really want to create a new thread for it, but I mocked up a concept for an Indycar Playstation game over the weekend:

What about us Xbox people? What about me?!! What about Raven?!!! But seriously, that's amazing. Makes me wish for a new IndyCar game.

www.racer.com/indycar/item/121229-insight-someone-s-always-buying-indycar-part-1While the X1 Group stinks of Kickstarter-like vaporware, the attitude in the comments section towards it and towards anything involving "the young folks with five second attention spans" is why there's times I seriously wish Indycar would just die. I feel like that's the only way to rid the sport of the negative attitudes and self-defeating prophecies constantly trying to drag the sport down. When you have people CELEBRATING the fact that Indycar's fanbase is described as "aging middle-aged white males" and grumbling at any attempt to modernize the sport and being completely dismissive of anyone younger than 30 just because "well every youngster I've ever met says that racing is wasteful and cars are just 'transportation'", things are never ever going to change. I increasingly think the sport needs to die and be reincarnated for any significant change to happen.

Denny Hamlin tore his ACL (the other one) yesterday but will not miss any racing. He's going to finish the season and then get surgery.
