Yeah, it kind of is. Fine him if you want, but NFL players only have so many years in them, and he just lost almost full one any way you slice it. He was 2nd team All Pro in 2013, and then signed a one year deal with a new team on the open market. I hate domestic violence, but that incident has cost him a lot of games and a lot of money. If he played anywhere near his 21 level last year, do you know what kind of money he's looking at? And how much guaranteed money? The guy is paying the price. And this is after the Ray Rice 2 game suspension debacle. If Rice had been suspended 25 games from the word go, this whole issue might have not blown up the way it did. Let's not forget that Rice is out there free to sign at this point. Not to divert this discourse to something else, but what Hardy did/was accused of doing is way worse than Ray Rice punching his wife. Don't get me wrong, what rice did was wrong any way that you slice it, but Hardy "allegedly" terrorized that woman to the point that she feared for her life. That should hold some weight once the NFL is done investigating. But doesn't anyone other than me find it really suspicious that they suspended him until the Carolina game? That had to be intentional.

That should hold some weight once the NFL is done investigating. What he did was worse than that. He beat and terrorized her to the point that she begged him to simply kill her and stop the torture. Then, after he got convicted he evidently threw enough money at his victim to make her disappear when it came time for her to testify at his appeal. He should be in jail right now but bought his way out of trouble. Then, Jerry Jones decided he was Cowboys material. Even the Bucs decided they were not that much of a mess to do that.

That had to be intentional. Yes, they were very deliberate with their scheduling this year. For example, if Peyton Manning keeps close to his career stats, he will break Bret Favre's record for yardage either against the team that Favre played most of his games for (the Packers) or against the team he played the most for (the Colts).

That should hold some weight once the NFL is done investigating. Yeah, he threatened to kill her. Which is out of control. But let's take Leonard Little for example. He ACTUALLY killed a woman in a drunk driving accident. And he was suspended 8 games. And then got another DUI and managed to get off. And he was suspended 8 games in total. And Ray Rice knocked his wife the F out for a good minute. And maybe Hardy is still the worst of the 3. But he's also lost more games than them, if Rice's appeal stands up. Even though no team may sign him, the NFL is saying he's clear due to their own incompetence. Hardy was actually dealt with in a very strict manner. 25 games while being completely healthy and not in jail. Who else has had that kind of punishment?

So, Jameis Winston explained to Jim Harbaugh that he thought he had a "hook up" at Publix so he could get free crab legs.
But Publix says that is not true, and Winston never had any sort of hook up.
And FSU is also looking into this as possible violations for illegal benefits if Winston did have said "Hook Up".
There are so many things that bring up questions in this whole story.
The big question being: WHY WOULD YOU DRAFT THIS TRAIN WRECK?!!!

The big question being: WHY WOULD YOU DRAFT THIS TRAIN WRECK?!!! What makes it all the more agonizing of a decision for the Buccaneers is the fact that stealing crab legs from a grocery store is so unbelievably inconsequential compared to the rape allegations. If maybe shoplifting some crab legs was the biggest wart on Jameis Winston's resume, then you could brush it aside as a kid doing something dumb. But when it's an allegation on top of rape accusations and shouting derogatory obscenities on campus, it just goes to show what a problem child Winston could turn out to be. The Buccaneers brass has to be losing sleep over this decision. Draft Winston and risk investing tens of millions of dollars in a guy that, to this point, has yet to show a single iota of maturity or respect for anybody. Don't draft Winston and let him go to another franchise and potentially watch as he maybe gets his head on straight and develops into a formidable NFL quarterback. They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

To me, the whole "Crab Legs" story being brought up, and these new little plot twists just show me more and more that he's a f***ing liar. So I'm thinking, "Alright, he's lying about the shoplifting. What else is he lying about? What else is he trying to spin?" Don't get me wrong, the rape allegations and derogatory obscenities are a major issue as well. It shows lack of maturity, especially for a kid who was supposed to be "The Face of Florida State Football." And I've heard the "Well, he's just a kid. He doesn't know any better." I'm sorry, you went to a Division 1 school. You need to know better. And if he doesn't get his shit straight, he's gonna be another Lawrence Phillips.

They're damned if they do and damned if they don't. You take him. They're going to take him. The rape thing is a weird area. Because he wasn't charged with rape. Rape is weird, because any question of an accusation and you're a rapist. There's such a stigma attached with it, and with good reason, but there's no respect for due process. Like with Hernandez, he got his day in court. People asked "did he do it?" from the word go, but once the details started to come out before the court date, it seemed pretty clear that he was guilty. There isn't that with rape, unless it's Stevens or Sharper. But any other time, it's the accusation makes him a rapist. It's one thing that's hard to speculate about, because there's rarely any 3rd party details. The crab legs thing is the one that is easier. If he "got the hook up", then that makes a lot more sense. There are tons and tons of kids in the NCAA that get stuff they shouldn't. If it's that type of situation and he just got busted, it's more understandable. If he just tried to straight-up shoplift, knowing he's eyes on him from the rape accusation, then he's just a moron and his personal judgment is very much in question. The FHRITP situation is a non-factor. He was 20 and yelled a popular meme. I'm still not sure if he got suspended because someone at the school heard him and he got in trouble or it was a word of mouth thing and they reacted. Either way, the fact that we're talking about it is more indicative of the 24-hour news cycle than anything else. That happens in the 80's, and no one ever hears a word about it. And if they did, nobody would care. People care now because it's something to talk about. It's not his best decision, but in terms of mistakes, it's up there with like, a speeding ticket.

To me, that one is worse than the shoplifting, because it shows how he just has zero respect for women. No, it's not a crime like shoplifting is a crime, but it displays his overall lack of respect more than anything else. The guy faced rape accusations, but they were thrown out after some possibly shoddy investigating on behalf of Florida State and Tallahassee Police. Winston should be laying down his jacket over a puddle for any woman who crosses the street or tipping his cap to any woman he sees after getting off clean on that allegation. Instead, he decides to shout something vulgar and offensive (meme or not, it's crass and cruel) in the middle of a crowded area on a campus where he is the most visible and popular person. It shows a lack of intelligence, a lack of awareness, and a lack of respect, especially a lack of respect for women. ESPN's Sam Ponder blasted Winston last year on College Gameday when she said, "Here's what we're asking from him: we're asking that you don't lie, you don't cheat, you don't steal, and you don't disrespect women." Has he shown that he's capable of doing ANY of that yet?

No, it's not a crime like shoplifting is a crime, but it displays his overall lack of respect more than anything else. Oh, come on. I never got into it at all, but who cares? People around me said it more than a few times. It was probably yelled on every college campus. The same with "Deez nuts! Haha, got 'em!" is now. People just say it because they heard it. No one gives a shit about it's literal meaning. I mean, it's not anything. The fact that you thing yelling a meme means he has no respect for women is such a 2015 problem. And I'm a Miami fan! I hate the Noles, and I hate Winston. But in the large scheme of things, this is a nothing violation. It's minutia. It's silliness. I mean, the U Part II just came out not too long ago, and they went over the New Orleans street fight with such nostalgia. And that was assault and battery and disorderly conduct. What's yelling a meme? The guy faced rape accusations, but they were thrown out after some possibly shoddy investigating on behalf of Florida State and Tallahassee Police. I hate home cooking prosecution, but what do you have to base it on? Usually there's a story. Like with any number of Bowden stories..... Oh my goodness, a crass football player? You realize how many of these guys are? Remember what Peyton Manning did? THAT was crass and cruel. Yelling a meme....again, who cares? Do you REALLY care? As a person, would you honestly care if someone yelled a meme got a job the next year or not based on that? Is this were we're at as a society? Did you see the video compilation of all those people yelling FHRITP on live news broadcasts? Yeah, it was incredibly stupid. But that's the worst thing I can say about it. And that was broadcast on TV for all to see! Yeah, it was a lack of awareness and intelligence. But as a standalone action, it's nothing. We're talking about it because he's a big time QB and he was accused of rape. There's literally no other reason why you or I would be talking about it. That's how insignificant that action is. So no, I really don't think it says everything he thinks about women or that he's incapable of respecting women. I mean, yeah, if you think he's guilty of rape, then obviously he doesn't respect women at all. But what does that have to do with this? Of course anyone associated with ESPN said it meant something. No one on that network has ever just said "this means nothing, why are we talking about it?" They're the discussion and hype. They're entire empire is BUILT ON BANTER.

Remember when Cam Newton was at UF and stole someone's laptop and then when they went looking for it he threw it in a dumpster or something and said it wasn't him? Incredibly stupid, criminal action that showed 0 decision making and got him kicked out of UF. And then when he made it back to D1 programs, he let his Dad pimp him out to Auburn and the school made his Dad not come around and Cam was all like "we'll do that. That's cool, because we didn't do anything wrong, so him staying away totally makes sense." And now he's a franchise QB and everyone loves his smile and charisma.
Dumb kids can still turn into franchise QBs who don't get into trouble. Peyton teabagged that girl. Eli got a drunk in public citation. These guys make mistakes. The rape accusation is a big deal, but due process said he didn't do it. Shoplifting is really dumb and indicative of later criminal action. Yelling a meme is dumb and not really anything. It'd be a victimless crime if it were even a crime at all...

Like with any number of Bowden stories..... www.nytimes.com/interactive/2014/04/16/sports/errors-in-inquiry-on-rape-allegations-against-fsu-jameis-winston.html?_r=0No, in the big picture, I don't care. But like I said, you would think a person who just skated on a rape allegation would have a little more awareness than to yell in front of dozens of other students, "F*** her right in the p****!" Sure, it's a meme, but there's more to it than just that. He didn't hold up a picture of Doge and yell, "wow such seminoles much football" or whatever. And yeah, I've seen the videos of people yelling it during live news broadcasts. It doesn't make me think any better of them or think, "Wow, that guy is funny and cool." I think, "yeesh, that guy is a horse's ass." That's just the thing, though. You can't look at it in a vacuum. If Marcus Mariota shouted "F*** her right in the p****!" at the Oregon student union, how many of us care? None, because he's never been accused of rape. The exact reason it's an issue with Winston is because he was facing a rape allegation. It would be like if Michael Vick scored a touchdown with the Eagles in 2009 and during his post-game press conference he said, "Who let the dogs out?"

That's a really good article, painting the picture that he probably raped that girl. Tallahassee is a cesspool. I can't say for sure that he's a rapist. It'd seemingly be easy if they did a rape kit. Just re-open the case and match him up. But I can say that he probably raped that girl and I think he's a piece of shit.
