My God! The look on Shawn's face. Just utter disdain for that man. Jose: I better be topping this time, Shawn. Shawn: *sighs* Ok.

I just had a terrible image in my head of Jose as a member of DX The only thing degenerating about Jose is his hip bones.

Other than the fact that he was kind of boring (I was 7, or so, during this run of WWE), what's the deal with this guy? Why does Shawn hate him?
Do you think Bryan feels this way about Michaels?

I don't think Bryan hates him, but I do think Bryan thinks of Regal as more a mentor and influence on his career and ring work.

So we can all pretty much agree that Jose Lothario is the worst person to ever live, right? Screw that guy.

Was it ever confirmed HBK was telling Jose to get the F out of the ring?
I'm more likely to believe it was aimed at Bret Hart.

They discussed it beforehand, and thought that it would give Bret a reason to have a beef with Shawn when he came back. The comment gets really blown out of proportions - which I guess just means that they worked you.

This thread is hilarious
That being said, has Shawn spoke on the whole deal-Jose is still alive-wonder if Shawn has had any interaction with him at all since he cleaned up his act?

Jose is still alive? He looked 80 in 1995.
Also, f*** Pete Lothario, dude had it coming for putting his ass in the game too.

Suck in that belly, Dickhead Jose Lothario! Shoot, that's only a 3 on the Mil Mascaras "suck in your gut!" scale.

" alt=" "] Shawn Michaels should have been a lot happier to be reunited with the man who taught him how to giv... er, -get- ahead in wrestling and the importance of sucking it. Without 'Supersuck' Jose Lethario's guidance, DX wouldn't have had their catchphrase and Shawn would have had to have laid down in the ring once in a while rather than in Vince's office. I can't help but imagine the picture behind them is not a picture of a wrestler, but a window into the small room Jose keeps his only other student captive, topless and shackled to the floor so he doesn't escape and join the AWA like Shawn did. Shawn broke Jose's heart, it will never happen again!

This is interesting, I don't recall it either. Shawn was attacked by the Corporation at the start of 1999. He did give an interview afterwards but it must have been on Heat as I don't remember it and we didn't get Heat back then. Perhaps Jose was with him then. OR the year in that quote is a typo and it's actually referring to Jose returning in January 1997 to build towards the Rumble rematch in San Antonio. Here it is. Do you think there's anything to the rumor that Shawn and Vince had a gay relationship? It would explain a lot. Shawn was not a draw, was not liked backstage, acted like an a-hole all the time, yet Vince gave him a superpush and went absolutely insane on commentary for his stripper act, he almost seemed turned on by it. A lot of born agains are self-hating gays.

A lot of born agains are self-hating gays. Honestly no, outside of the stripper act, Shawn just seemed like a tool to me, one of the cool highschool jock types that middle aged guys in positions of power wish they were back in the day so will tolerate all kinds of terrible behavior from. Vince had a huge mancrush on him, liked the fact he pulled no punches and would screw over anyone he could to climb the card but I think that's about the full extent of their relationship. Vince has kind of a blind spot when it comes too how homoerotic his tastes are so it's easier than it should be to get a gay vibe from some of the things he pushes. With Shawn the gay vibe only really comes from him when he's strutting and gyrating his way to the ring, something that's very unlikely to have been his idea, but if it's what he needed to do to get a solo push, he went with it because of the relentless ambition that Vince likes from his top stars.

I think he was saying to Lothario though. You know Jose would've been there patting Shawn's shoulders and clapping the whole time, which would've made the Boyhood Dream Pose-a-thon even more awkward.
