Played the first two worlds on Astro Bot and it's the most fun I've had in a video game in a looooooong time. It's super cute and well made and I don't think any PS5 game makes as good use of the sounds, lights, and haptics on the controller as this one does. It smacks you around the head with all of the Sony/PlayStation references but that doesn't take away from anything. It's just a really, really fun platformer and worth the hype, IMO.

I played about an hour of it earlier and yeah, it's the first PS5 game I've played that feels like it's actually using the hardware for something.

I just wish there was more to the stealth element. Confusion gas, poison, body hiding, dress up. Stuff Hitman has been doing for decades.

As it is, it's just a sneaking game with janky AI rules around how eagle eyes guards can be from the other side of the play area one minute vs completely blind to you right next to them the next.

I think the worst thing about Outlaws are the random ambushes from factions who don't like you.

First couple of times, ok it was auite fun. But now I just swear when it happens. It would be OK if it was something interesting and varied. Like maybe a random bounty hunter from the films like Bossk or IG-88 randomly show up to fight you. But the exact same speeder gang every five minutes is just annoying.

They're doing a "technical presentation" tomorrow likely showing off the long-rumored PS5 Pro. ... Really can't see any reason whatsoever for this thing to exist given how almost nothing actually uses the hardware the thing already has.

feels like the only games that truly uses the base PS5 to its potential is a tech demo starring a cute robot guy and its sequel.

This all-digital trend's just going to f*** gamers over when we can no longer buy certain games from the online store due to being from a previous gen after the PS6 comes out, or if it's another P.T. demo/Scott Pilgrim video game (until the physical release happened later) situation.

I was never going to get this, but yeah, $700 is insane. At least with the PS4 pro it was cheaper and had a much larger library with games that lacked a performance mode option. Why would I need an upgrade when pretty much every game has a 60 fps option and until recently was making graphical accommodations so they could be crossgen? I'm seriously trying to think of PS5's heavy hitters not available on PS4. Demon Souls, Astrobot, Last of Us Remakes, Spiderman 2, and Returnal I think.

I imagine Sony will course correct but other than Astrobot and Demon Souls nothing this gen has made me happy to own my PS5. If Sony remains this way and physical media is gone next gen then I can probably see myself getting a Steam Deck.

I was kind of always going to write off a PS5 Pro as a waste of money no matter what they did with it, but damn did they completely shit the bed on this one. Even the people who actually care about OMGPERFORMANCE are calling this a dud.
