The best thing about the price I can say is "at least it's still cheaper than mid-range Nvidia GPUs." And that's more of an indictment of the GPU pricing than anything.

Hey if some suckers want to buy it, then fair play I guess
As a Sony owner since PS1 days, hope it bombs least Sony and other companies get encouraged by it being a success

It seems the goodwill Sony had from releasing a very strong GOTY contender didn't even last a week.

That’s madness that they’re trying to sell that. They really don’t need to get cocky again like they did after the PS2, especially with Microsoft seemingly being on the ropes.

Wooooof. I’m usually a PlayStation fanboy but this is a miss on every single level.

This all-digital trend's just going to f*** gamers over when we can no longer buy certain games from the online store due to being from a previous gen after the PS6 comes out, or if it's another P.T. demo/Scott Pilgrim video game (until the physical release happened later) situation. That's absolutely one of the bigger motivations Sony and Microsoft have for pushing all-digital. They think that having full control of how their liraries are distributed and killing the second-hand market will result in bigger profits, but it'll drive consumers to more flexible platforms like Steam Deck, to piracy, or out of the market altogether.

They should've released Astro Bot right after this if they wanted to do some damage control.
"Hey, remember when games were fun and you liked our brand?"

All I want out of this is for PS5 slim prices to go down. Shit's still too expensive over here.

That price for just an upgrade in graphics? What the actual f***, Sony. And still keeping those disc drives at $80 is a ripoff. I looked at disc drives for my PC last year, the one I went with was half that price and I'm quite sure there were some cheaper than that.
Instead of doing this bullshit, how about an external SSD that's actually capable of playing PS5 games and not just storing them?

This is Wii U levels of bad It's not quite that far. Unless it releases exclusive games, at worst it's 32X or N64DD levels. A dumb product that adds nothing and is a waste of resources, but is ultimately harmless.

699.99 no disc drive, vertical stand sold separately f*** that noise. And only a 2TB hard drive. For that price, it should be 4, especially with it not having a disc drive.

So Concord cost 200 million to make and that was the best they could come up with in a span of 8 years

I just got my PS5 a week ago and I really have no desire to buy this new one. However, I really dislike tea. Now if I can buy some Yoo-Hoo instead...
