So word going around that they're steadily delisting Ape Escape 2 on PSN, which is awesome to hear 1), because it means we might be about to get an updated release that adds the NTSC version and save states and stuff, 2), because as-is the game runs like absolute garbage on PS5, and 3), because maybe just maybe it'll be a sign of them finally re-releasing Ape Escape 3 as well.

The bad news is it probably means physical copies of Ape Escape 2 may be going up in price on Ebay as a result I guess

So for those wondering what the payoff is to the Life is Strange thing... {Spoiler}It turns out Safi faked her death to bait out Max's powers because she wants to create a team of people with powers to reign as gods. You can choose whether or not Max agrees to that then Safi leaves to look for more people with powers and it ends on a, "Max Caufield will return," screen. So yeah, they made it a Marvel movie, and Chloe doesn't show up. Yeah, it's time to put a bullet in this series.

Before the Storm was fine, a step back from the first one, but nothing wrong with it. True Colors had a lot going for it but was let down by choices not mattering in the slightest and a weak plot. But was still a decent game. LiS 2 was utter trash though.

Nearing the end of Metaphor Refantazio and its introduced a gameplay element I hate--bullet sponge bosses.
They aren't more challenging. They're just more tedius. There are three dragons to fight as part of these trials and they are each bullet sponges. They pose no threat at all--I beat them with little difficulty just with the tactic of hitting them with heavy attacks, healing when needs be, curing status when needs be. Rince and repeat for 20 minutes.
It's just boring. Not a challenge, it would have been the same level of challenge if it had 10,000 HP or 200,000 HP. Just took longer and was more boring.

Tried playing Dino Crisis, since it is on PS Extra.
Holy f***ing shit are these controls bad. I had forgotten how bad they are. It makes the game unplayable. I mean, when updating/porting it they could have at least modified the controls.

I almost have an easier time playing older 8/16 bit era games than that early 3D games era. There are some things that age just fine, and some things that were a product of the tech limitations that still just are awkward limitations.

Feels too counter-intutive and annoying. I remember enjoying the game back in the day. But it does not hold up at all.

Not that every game nowadays feels wonderful to play, but the way controls for 3D games have improved over time is crazy. Even trying to go back to something as simple as the original Spyro trilogy with its shoulder button camera controls feels wrong.

I remember the original Tomb Raider games having really weird movement rules. Like Lara moved on a grid. Some of those early 3D games before control sticks were standardized really don't hold up.

Playing the House of the Dead remake, I like it a lot more turning off the motion sensor of the controller and using the joystick to aim. Using the controller for that felt like 2006 PS3 vibes.
Fun remake though, I had fun.

It is one of the main reasons I have failed to get into the Classic's Collection. The controls just need a complete overhaul.

Dead Island 2 is pretty garbage. Played it for an hour and experienced three of my pet hates in gaming
1 - Bullet spongey enemies 2 - Fast weapon breakage (this one I don't mind if it something that will break like a pool cue. But when a sledgehammer or metal bar breaks after 5 minutes ... f*** off with that) 3 - Fast respawning enemies
Reckon I am gonna replay The Last of Us.

Weirdly I just replayed it yesterday to play the DLC I enjoyed the base game and the DLC was more of same but one of my pet hates is in full display with this game. Arbitrary health points. I’ve got like 3360 in my heath bar but wtf does that mean or help in any way. Just tell me how many times I can get hit. Give me 7 boxes or something then I know what I’m dealing
