Dead Island 2 is pretty garbage. Played it for an hour and experienced three of my pet hates in gaming 1 - Bullet spongey enemies 2 - Fast weapon breakage (this one I don't mind if it something that will break like a pool cue. But when a sledgehammer or metal bar breaks after 5 minutes ... f*** off with that) 3 - Fast respawning enemies Reckon I am gonna replay The Last of Us. Weirdly I just replayed it yesterday to play the DLC I enjoyed the base game and the DLC was more of same but one of my pet hates is in full display with this game. Arbitrary health points. I’ve got like 3360 in my heath bar but wtf does that mean or help in any way. Just tell me how many times I can get hit. Give me 7 boxes or something then I know what I’m dealing I prefer Dead Island 2 over 1, the enemies are better and the weapons tell you durability before picking up so I try and avoid things with garbage durability. I wanna try neighborhood watch mode but haven't found time

Downloaded the new Life is Strange and finished chapter one. I think what annoyed me more than the obvious and much discussed event is Day One DLC content.
I'm not talking about the extra clothing packs, they are fine. But the extra cat mission content. That should be part of the base game. If I'm paying 50 quid for a game, I want the game to be complete. Not have content locked behind DLC ... on Day One.

I downloaded A Wolf Among Us.
Why have I slept on this game for so long? It's fantastic. Telltale's best game, even better than Walking Dead. A genuinely suspenseful and interesting mystery, a fantastic cast of characters, a cool antagonise and your choices actually seem to matter (to a degree at least, from what I can tell).
I guess because I never read the Fables comic, this just slipped under my radar. But it is great--I am partway through chapter 4. Snow White is my favorite character so far--she's great. Brilliantly written.

Fabledom is a massive disappointment.
A Fairy Tale/Fantasy World city builder--great, that sounds interesting. What isn't interesting is that there is little magical of fairy talish about it. YLou build your city and you have just bog standard human move in--why? Where are the elves and the witches and the talking animals and the gnomes? You should see them walking around your fairytale kingdom. Not just a bunch of crappy humans.

From what I can see, Ogres even attack at some point. It is very half-assed. Early on in the game, you can recruit a hero to protect your land--since it's based on fairy tale's, you'd expect the hero to be someone like Jack the Giant Killer or Prince Charming or The Woodsman. Someone from an actual Fairy Tale. Instead its a generic nobody. And the rulers of the rival kingdoms--again, you'd expect it'd be queens and princesses and characters from fairy tales. But nope, it's just generic nobodies. Such a half-assed game. Just zero effort put into it.

Replaying The Last of Us 2. Even aside the Joel/Abby stuff--it is just a massive step down from the first one. A good game, don't get me wrong. But even early in, it feels more repetitive than I remembered in Seattle. Kill a bunch of WLF, loot a building, move to the next street kill some WLF loot the building, move to the next street kill some WLF loot the buildings etc etc etc.
The first one just had much more interesting encounters and story points on the journey across America. Plus more interesting characters in Joel and Ellie. Dina is OK, but there's no story there between them. No real relationship to grow and develop because they already have a relationship established.
