I'm sorry. The minute I saw them talking about "Peter Parker's story" I stopped caring. I can't even pretend to look forward to more Peter Parker as Spider-Man and not Miles Morales. This is a joke right? Who the f*** cares about Miles Morales in this context?

So all of Marvels movies with the exception of the infinity war and GOTG2 are bumped.
Well phase 3 just got pretty damn crazy.

This is a joke right? Who the f*** cares about Miles Morales in this context? I do, obviously. I wouldn't care that much if we didn't literally get five movies about Peter Parker. No, asking for them to actually throw a curve and do at least one Miles Morales Spidey is not out of the question... But again, no use arguing over that because that doesn't seem to be what we're getting.

There is only one way to make everyone happy: Have him never take his mask off and be voiced by Christopher Daniel Barnes.

If some thoughts about Secret Wars are true and Peter does move on making Miles the main universes Spider-Man I think that could be easily reflected in the movies. It'd be a hell of a lot less clunky then how they had to turn Nick Fury black in the comics.

Yeah, I'm going to throw my hat into the Miles Morales ring. They can play up Spider-Man like an urban legend superhero in New York, but introduce him full-blown into the world with an MCU Spider-Morales movie. That way, you avoid all the baggage of the other Spider-Man films (as much as I like JK Simmons as Jameson and Garfield as Spider-Man). You introduce a new character most people aren't familiar with. You add some more diversity to the MCU. Everyone wins. Does anyone really want to even see Morales? Is there that big of a movement for him? I mean he comes after Peter. I can understand doing him 10 years from now, but its way too soon.

Keep in mind that Miles is still a very, very recently-created character. Every single MCU film so far has (a) main character(s) have been carrying their own titles for at least recurring extended runs since the 1960s and '70s (Guardians getting a deserved asterik as the title and concept have been off and on for decades, while the characters featured only lead titles that were minis or one-shots). With very few exceptions, almost all of the previously-existing characters used in any roles date back to at least the Reagan administration.

There is a VOCAL group of people that want to see him, but large? No. "Nobody" knows who he is, speaking to the general masses. But those viewers also didn't know who Loki was and apparently now he's the coolest villain ever, so if they put him in the movies then he IS Spider-Man, more or less. If thats whats the large, non-comic reading viewers see they will easily adapt. I mean, they put some random generic character that has none of the flair of the comic original into the Avengers and everyone now calls him Hawkeye. It reminds me of a person I heard complaining that they turned Green Lantern into a white guy for the movie, since they had only known about GL's from the Justice League cartoon.

Man, I kind of want a movie with Starhawk being vague and waving everything off by saying "one who knows" for two hours.

All the more reason to do Miles or Gwen The MCU is OVERHWELMING white & male & it's getting worse possibly with Spidey pushing back both Black Panther & Captain Marvel. Throw us a goddamn bone & do your audiences a favor & give Gwen or Miles a shot at this. Plus this way you can confuse the casual audience less than by bringing Peter back plus better organically bring Spidey into the MCU without having everyone trudge through Pete's f***ing origin again.

I don't think they HAVE to do origin movies, they just like to. Even when they know there's no need. Its like everyone forgets how awesome Batman 1989 was. The movie just starts and hey its Batman.

When it comes to the origin wasn't there something in the leaked that said if Marvel ever got back the rights they would completely bypass the origin story and go right to a more adult spiderman could have sworn one of those leaked e-mails said something along those lines.
If the MCU spiderman is akin to Christoper Daniel Barns spiderman meaning have parker in college and balancing more adult responsibilities while spiderman I think thats the perfect way to go.

From all reports they hated him I know, but they can still swerve us and let Garfield play Spidey. Don't give up hope.

Think positive: Since Black Panther's bumped that just means they'll have an opportunity to publish more of those Priest complete collections of his Marvel Knights run before the movie is out! Those are pretty solid and are being collected largely for the first time. New viewers to the movie will have this and the excellent Don McGregor run to fall right into after seeing the film.
