I'm sorry. The minute I saw them talking about "Peter Parker's story" I stopped caring. I can't even pretend to look forward to more Peter Parker as Spider-Man and not Miles Morales. Okay, bare with me here a little bit. I'm not too up-to-date to the comings and goings of Marvel. .....But who the f*** is Miles Morales?

How do you do such a thing when her big contribution to the Spider-Man genre is usually being the first love interest, then dying?

SpiderGwens costume is probably my favourite recent costume change that Marvels been handing out its various characters , would love to see it on the bigscreen.

AKA "The Best Thing To Come Out Of Ultimate Marvel" To the point where I wouldn't be surprised if he's the only character still kicking from that continuity when Secret Wars ends.

Its f***ing Spider-Man, calm down. Why make this about race and gender? Shouldn't there be a crowd complaining about Thor not being female or why Falcon isn't Caps yet? Just let Peter play out. When it comes time for his character to be phased out, he will be. Christ. Idc what your opinion of the Sony films were, Peter is still a much more iconic and major player than Miles Morales and most Super Heroes. Top 5 all-time IMO.

I don't think we'll get Morales because that would require people to know what Ultimate is, which would require people to have read it, which would show all these new folks the awfulness of Ultimate.

I'd love to see Miles Morales get a push, but the press release said they're going with Pete (w/o Andrew Garfield) so we have to live with that for now. Maybe they can introduce Morales in the new movie and segue into him becoming Spidey by the second movie?
One last thing: NO ORIGIN STORY!

I would not mind Morales at some point but not right now , just give me a great series of films with Peter Parkers spiderman and then down the line if they ever wanna go down the Miles Morales route fine then...but there are ALOT of peter parker stories that are yet to be touched and ones I am sure alot of spidey fans want to see.
Kravens last hunt being at the top of the list.

Falcon, Fury, Black Panther soon, War Machine, Black Widow, Half the cast of AoS, Peggy Carter, do I need to say more? Or does that go against your whining in this thread?

The second best Marvel news I've heard this week.
Myself, I am still in full and total SQUEE mode about A-Force.
I mean, this is certainly a massive push for She Hulk, and that makes me incredibly happy.

You could literally just introduce Miles Morales by killing off Peter Parker in the first 10 minutes. There's...stuff you can do. You can fiddle with Miles' backstory...which would result in less rage just because he's a recent character.
Not to mention the sixth Peter Parker/Spider-Man movie pushes back the two new franchises headed by the black dude and the white woman (because there's just no way Captain Marvel will be Monica Rambeau and not Carol Danvers). Yeah, what-****ing-ever Marvel. Great message, I can't say it's a surprise.
I can't wait for the day Milestone can get going and hopefully put some good stuff on the screen.
EDIT: And too...I've got no love for the Agent Carter show either. That's the whitest show I've seen in a while, but good news everyone: it makes me really want to see Arrow, The Flash and that new animated Vixen show DC is going to do. I've got none of the patience to sit through a show like that in 2015.

Yay another white dude on the screen while the negroes & females get bumped down zzzzzzz Why is it when this type of argument comes up the solution is always: "change the ethnicity of long standing established characters" instead of: "pushing for writers and artists to develop original characters of ethnic backgrounds that can stand side by side in popularity with the established characters". Do people have so little faith in original material that they instead just say "f*** it. Make Superman 1/4 native american and 3/4's serbian." and expect it to stand next to what it the basis of in pop culture legacy? Is it because it's easier and requires little to no effort? I can see the complaints, don't worry. "We don't want to wait. We want to see these characters now." Sorry but crafting a rich history like all these great comic book characters have isn't done in the span of two hours. There is a similar parallel with reboot movies. Some guy wants to make a movie that features giant mechs, frost giants, dreams that are really a reflection of and a coping mechanism for traumatic events in the real world that ends with a giant space battle and at the end of his pitch he tells you he's calling it a completely original non sequel reboot Lethal Weapon. I could bring up characters like Blade, Falcon, Black Panther, Black Widow who have gotten or are getting their due but it would be dismissed because either some of them didn't get their own movie, or that they aren't being used enough. That then leads to the most dismissive comment of all: "They aren't enough characters of ethnicity in comics." To which I respond: Stop complaining and create one

Miles Morales is as much Spider-Man as Jean-Paul Valley is Batman. Spider-Man isn't interchangeable. The Spider-Man persona is driven by Peter Parker.
