The most complicated book you've read.

After four attempts I finally got going with Clive Barker's Imajica.

Finished it today after slowly going through it.

Had to read a summary after since some things went over my head.

Heard they were contemplating a series based on the book though I can't really see it as filmable.

Up next is Neal Stephenson's Cryptonomicon that's been on my shelves for years now.

It's easy to read plot wise but yee gods the nadsat is annoying, if you think it's bad in the movie the book is WAY worse

I went through a Joyce phase. I doubt I need to elaborate, but Finnegans Wake is so much fun once you get past being irritated. I wasn't really that interested in it until I saw someone compare it to Vogon poetry. It's the only book I've repeated immediately after finishing. It's just a totally different experience read aloud.

Yeah, the trick to reading Finnegans Wake is to read it aloud. Once you hear yourself communicate the book, it makes so much more sense.

Honestly one of my copies has notes from me written in it trying to figure out what is going on, the other copy is pristine. I love the book but it is really complicated and for me recently S. is one

I was going to say The Stand

I mainly read fantasy/sci fi and loved The Dark Tower series by Stephen King, so i then read/bought almost everything he wrote and i kept 'IT' and The Stand for last. I had no problem with IT but the Stand just never seemed to get going. The only reason i honestly kept reading was because i knew Randall Flagg had a big part in the story (he is one of my favourite SK characters and i love the idea of someone appearing in different books/worlds etc). I ended up liking the Stand in the end but it is still probably one of my least favourite SK books

I've tried to start reading Gravity's Rainbow many times. I've made it about 150-200 pages before stopping because I honestly don't know a f***ing thing that's happened.
