I just find it weird that every where I see a discussion online about this show the title always gets talked about like the fact he isn't literally the last man on earth offends them or that they pulled a fast one on everyone

So is it established on this show that every animal on Earth is dead as well? I think they said that there's no way to eat meat anymore in one episode, but if animals were still around then it would be possible.

It's setting up a spin off for The Last Cow on Earth.

Random Bob's Burger connection in the cow episode.
Louise/Schall with a cow stuck upstairs.

The show has been renewed for a second season.
Not a surprise since Fox showed a lot of promotion for it, and it was kept at a stable timeslot on Sunday. The only jarring thing is all the double episodes, but maybe that stops soon when Family Guy comes back?

Well the good news is I read that Will Forte and bunch of writers have been listening to a lot of the fan complaints about Phil and Carrol being completely unlikeable and working to improve that. I like the show but I'm hoping its a show on the long list of great comedy shows having a not so great first season but great from season 2 and beyond

I could see why people would find Carol annoying, but she's not unlikable. Phil is the one who has been a douche ever since Melissa came into the picture. Either way, good to know they're going to rectify this.

I honestly don't mind Carol. Before Todd she was actually the most sympathetic and likeable character. If Phil's douchey behavior leads him to getting kicked out of Tucson then it's a great payoff.

Just watched "The Do-Over" and WOW, Phil is really a dick. I mean, they're right to want to tone down how unlikable he is, because this is just pushing it. We get it, he's a schmuck, but GEEZ, let's not make him irredeemable. Overall though, if they reign that in a little, the show is a classic in the making for me. {Spoiler} The two new characters are pretty great. Mary Steenberg is a crush for sure, but Cleopatra Coleman though....dear god, the level of hotness that survives the end of the world is staggering!

I did like how the last episode ended. It's almost like they maybe rebooting the Phil character in making him less of a dick and I did enjoy on how everybody turned on him especially January Jones openly talking about on how much of a scumbag he is.

Even the cow gave Phil the silent treatment.

Fixing Phil is a must for season 2 Oh it isn't a bad first season by any means. I enjoy the show. But this feels like a show that has lots of potential to be a great comedy like Seinfeld, The Office, Parks and Rec, The Simpsons where the first season of those shows were good but they are bad in comparison to rest of the seasons. But the Pranks a Lot episode sort of felt like they are rebooting and toning down Phil's character with his realization. If the punchline is continues being a dick and he gets kicked out of Tuscon and relocates somewhere else and finds a thriving community then it's a great joke.

Phil comes off worse because he's trying to not hurt Carol's feelings but rightfully hates her guts. If he just came out and said what he did at the end of this episode earlier then he would look better. Though they'll have to work really hard if they want me to root for them to get back together like they were teasing after the kisses with the divorce.

Well, so much for Carol's insistence on marriage first.

Well, so much for Carol's insistence on marriage first. To be fair she seems to be in competition against Gail and Erica. I wouldn't say Melissa was going after him since she is best friends with Carol and detected that Carol and Phil really liked each other in the camp fire. But yup I do love how it's setting up on a possible cliff hanger ending where Phil or Tandy is going to get his comeuppance and get kicked out of town and will redeem himself slowly and get better by next season. Plus I love the fact they questioned why the hell Tuscon of all places and we know why with some little back story. Also the funny thing is I'm sort of starting to feel bad for Tandy since yes he is a jerk who was really horrible and unlikable, he was the one who brought everyone together and came up with the idea of all the Alive in Tuscon billboards.

I love that when this show started Phil believed he was the last person on earth. Then, he went to believing he was the last man on earth. Now, he's not even the last Phil Miller on Earth.

Does anyone else dislike Melissa as much as I do? She's ruining the show for me.
