Randy Orton and The Rock did face one another on a PPV. Not in a singles match.

outside of Yokozuna, did Lex Luger ever wrestle any of the big names of the new generation era (Bret, Michaels, Undertaker, Ramon, Diesel) one on one? He wrestled Diesel on a Raw back in 1994. Wrestled Bret Hart on House Shows in WWF, but wrestled him on TV in WCW. Also, wrestled Razor Ramon on house shows, but wrestled him on TV in WCW. And wrestled HBK on House Shows, and I think had one match with him was on a home video release.

I know Foley/Angle happened in TNA, but did it in WWE? I heard they had a match on Smackdown in late 99 before Mankind turned into Cactus, but Mick was in such rough shape at the time.
Would've been so awesome if we got this in 04, when Mick in such great shape after the Orton match at Backlash and Angle hadn't quite broke down yet..

Goldberg VS Gillberg. The Rock teased us with it, but I would have loved to seen it.
Also, CM Punk VS Chris Benoit. It hasn't been brought up for obvious reason.

outside of Yokozuna, did Lex Luger ever wrestle any of the big names of the new generation era (Bret, Michaels, Undertaker, Ramon, Diesel) one on one? He had an IC title match on Raw against Diesel in 1994 and faced Bret numerous times in WCW. Just saw someone else responded with that same info. As far as Hogan and Flair - they did for sure have a Raw match in 2002 - Hogan was even defending the title.

They wrestled in singles matches only on House Shows. One of the former WWE writers (maybe Alex Greenfield?) talked about these matches on an MLW podcast. He put them over as some of the best matches he has ever seen. It would've been great. I remember rumors that the whole point of the Undertaker/Paul Heyman brief alliance in June 2004 was supposed to lead to Eddie dropping the title to Undertaker at SummerSlam. I'm really curious how the rest of things would've played out. My guess is Taker drops the belt to Angle who then drops it to Cena at WrestleMania

outside of Yokozuna, did Lex Luger ever wrestle any of the big names of the new generation era (Bret, Michaels, Undertaker, Ramon, Diesel) one on one? Yes. Once as the Narcissist against Hart, against Taker as the Narcissist at a house show, and against Diesel for the Intercontinental title and once again with Razor Ramon both against Diesel and Shawn Michaels. He even teamed up against them and Tatanka with the Smoking Gunns. Luger even encountered Michaels twice in the Royal Rumble in 94 he eliminated him and in 95 Shawn eliminated him. as for Razor, err, don't know. He did face him numerous times in WCW including that horrible one where they played Hall being drunk: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnFhG8s600gwww.youtube.com/watch?v=hT7BystIV1Y

Funny how Summerslam 2002 was the start of Shawns long comeback to slowly-full time schedule and Rock's end of that

Was there ever Bob Backlund vs The Undertaker? No, this is as close as it got: WWF @ Anaheim, CA - Arrowhead Pond - March 12, 1995 (7,000) The Undertaker defeated Bam Bam Bigelow via disqualification at 11:08 when Bob Backlund interfered, attempted to apply the Crossface Chicken Wing on the Undertaker, but was quickly thrown to the floor

Umaga vs Undertaker was a dream match until he got released. I saw Taker beat Khali AND Umaga in a handicap match at SNME in July 06. This was like a month and a half after Khali had squashed Taker...

Jericho and Bret Hart had nearly 2 years under the same roof in WCW. Bret wrestled Booker T on Saturday Night, even. But never Jericho.
Shawn Michaels basically avoided new talent like the plague in one-on-one matches during his final few years. I think the last new guy was Chris Masters or maybe Koslov. He never even wrestled Cody one-on-one, and DX feuded with Legacy across a few PPVs. Not sure what his deal was...maybe he just didn't want to go over them? He and Punk should've definitely happened considering they had nearly FOUR FREAKIN' YEARS to do it. Also, his last match on Raw could've easily been with Sheamus, as Triple H was feuding with him at the time, but they instead had him go with Kane. Ended in a DQ from what I remember anyhow.
Just frustrating. He had some good tag matches in that last year or so of his career, but they really should've had him face a few up-and-comers. If you want to get technical, he and Daniel Bryan could've had a match on NXT. Maybe Bryan's first official WWE match could've been with Shawn - his original wrestling trainer - instead of Jericho? Would've been sweet.

They had house show matches during Flair's first WWF run. Their MSG bouts were aired in New York, and are on the WWE Network. Not to mention Hogan and Flair wrestled a bunch in WCW.
