I remember Edge coming back from one of his surgeries, I believe neck, looking ripped, then off his prescribed steroids, he got really flabby and then back to an odd looking too lean look.

Eddie Guerrero around the time of his World title reign was more jacked than I'd ever seen him. Granted as a cruiserweight they'd never made a big deal about his physique but I remember looking at him and wondering how in the crap he'd bulked up that much.
I could be wrong but I think there was a point where Jericho had a similar transformation, possibly early 2000s.

Maybe he didn't want to or need to?
If the dude can wrestle, be over and maintain the schedule he doesn't need to look like a blow up jock doll.

Surprised no one mentioned hunter yet, so I shall. Triple H from this in 97 to this in 2000

Late indies or OVW (I remember on one of Colt's podcasts he said he was "up to 240" in order to look big enough to get called up). This is why I can't get behind CM Punk as a downtrodden "little guy". He wasn't some "woe is me" down on his luck wrestler with crappy genetics who couldn't get any bigger no matter how much work he put in at the gym. He just...stopped. Punk was perfectly capable of being that jacked guy Vince creamed over, and since he's straight edge, he was obviously doing it cleanly. You've got to keep in mind they're touring on the main roster though. In OVW, FCW, NXT, they're just in once place, so they can exercise all day, wrestle a set of tapings, then go back to toning up etc. Whereas on the road, you have to drive/fly between places, potentially do appearances, then find time to sleep and eat, before deciding to get some exercise done. Which is why a lot of dudes do roids, to supplement the lack of time to lift etc. Also, by all accounts, Punk was pretty much falling apart at the time. I mean, I had a minor rotator cuff tear a little while ago, and I could barely hold my own weight up to get out of bed, let alone lift any weights. So with all his shit, it's not surprising that he couldn't exercise as much. I'm not defending him as such, as he seems kinda like a douche, but you've got to look at it from a realistic perspective, and feel he's less being lazy, and more just doesn't have the time.

Not WWE but I have to mention Bully Ray: From this: To this:
It's why I was a little bit concerned when he appeared at the Rumble and seemed to have let himself go a bit.

Can't find pics atm, but there's a few publicity shots of Jericho from around 2002 and Edge from around 2003-2004ish where they both look disproportionately jacked and huge to how they've usually looked.
I feel like 2004ish is about the peak of the modern era in terms of overly buff physiques; I'd say it's about as close as you can get to the late 80s in terms of blatant juicing across the entire roster.

Yo TDJ, as a guy who's into fitness and wrestling, I enjoy when they mix together. Keep making these threads, I'm a fan of it. My two cents about Punk's physique. He did get lazy, and he wasn't lifting hard enough. I remember when they were doing the wrestlemania diaries on wwe.com, his bench was 135 pounds. That's how much most people warm up with. He is a professional wrestler who weighs 218 pounds, he should've been lifting at least 225 for reps. He also is a complete moron when it comes to diet. I remember him talking about going on a juice diet right before Wrestlemania. Dummy, if you're trying to lean out, you got to cut the fat on your body, which requires you to go on caloric restriction, while upping your protein to retain lean muscle mass. Going on a juice diet is pointless and is something done by overweight middle aged women.

I legit can't tell the difference between most of these before and after pics.
I'm starting to believe that being a fan of pro wrestling does make men more likely to go down some body dysmorphic kinds of roads, here. These threads remind me of people on pro-ana boards looking at pictures of famous women and telling each other how fat they are.

I've gone on record in saying that most of my threads/topics are satirical (Finn Balor won't get pushed because of his aging hairline, Becky Lynch has ugly feet, etc.), but I do have a moderate interest in bodybuilding and physiques and stuff (I lost and kept off 100 lbs for almost 3 years now). Anyway, 135 pounds? Like, work sets?? f***ing LOL. Yeah, the juice diet thing was stupid, and IIRC he also cut meat out for a while (bye bye natural protein). These days, it takes 10 minutes on the internet to learn a decent amount of nutrition info, not to mention all of the trainers and fellow wrestlers backstage... I guess Punk was too damn stubborn and had to do it his own way. The guy looked like he didn't lift. How am I supposed to believe that a slightly doughy guy who benches 135 can go toe-to-toe with John Cena?

I'm at 185 at 15-16%, trying to get down to 10% at 170 for the summer. And yeah, Punk's working sets were 135. Which is just ridiculous at his weight, I mean, come on. Especially compared to the rest of the roster. Look at a guy like Rollins and Punk, both are about the same weight, but Seth looks like a beast, while Punk looks skinnyfat.

Then WWE run angles saying Miz has a small dick and impotence as if those are flaws and things to be mocked. Nevermind the Bryan mocking and visible and aural ejaculations over Roman.

At the very least, I think it doesn't count if you mostly agree with what you're saying.

Boring life story details {Spoiler} I've been binge eating off and on and have stayed around 225 lbs (6'1'') for a while and pretty much hate myself for it. Lots of stress and boredom eating, but I'm getting over it.
Lowest ever was 205 in summer 2012. Well north of 20% bodyfat ATM. I realistically want to hit below 200 by the end of July and take it from there.
Exactly. You can be a small-to-medium sized guy and make it to the main event. HBK look like he lifted once in a while. Brett certainly lifted. Jericho looked fit. Even Daniel Bryan looks like a thick little lumberjack; he looked much more deadly when facing CM Punk.

I've had a couple of buddies who've tried it when they needed to lean out fast. Only thing is that your strength will drop a bit when you do it. But, you retain all your muscle mass and you lean out fast, like ridiculously fast.

All of these physique threads and such make me realize that I need to actually get a life. Sorry for causing this mess.
