He is, and people are perfectly welcome to respond to it when he posts it publically. ...OK. Glad we established that then. That's the point I'm making. Respond to the comment however you want but on-screen stuff shouldn't be a factor here. Reaching an amicable agreement in an AJ thread? Just who the HELL do you two think you are?!

Respond to the comment however you want but on-screen stuff shouldn't be a factor here. Again I think it is, because of the nature of the post. It's in line with something that also occurred during the on-air product. So it's fair game for criticism in that context.

She is the plague. I HATE HER!!~!!11!1" ...the lines do get blurred on here a little bit too frequently.

AJ got a tattoo in real life. It was mentioned on-air but it's not like that's some kind of storyline. She made that decision of her own free will. Riley decided to make a comment based off of his personal dislike of AJ. Where does either person's career play a factor in that exchange?

In terms of Nattie it's WWE who blur the lines by featuring her in an unflattering way, on what is supposed to be a "reality show".

Because the method he chose to express that view is based on references made on air that were made in a mocking tone. She got a tattoo in real life that was used on WWE programming as some strange stick to beat her over the head with.

Everything they do is a work. Most reality shows are works, too. If they make works, and reality TV is works galore, why in the world would anyone assume that it is something other than a work? Riley has never been treated as a particularly serious asset for the company, but he's been around for years, outlasting many other talents. I'd say that he's been pretty successful in his own right. His criticism of AJ might be bitter, but we shouldn't suppose it is because we have no real evidence to reach that conclusion. Mind you, I think him tweeting about that is distasteful and extremely unprofessional. But we don't really know why he did it.

RILEY'S OPINION IS BASED ON REAL LIFE STUFF. IT'S A SHOOT, BROTHER. Kayfabe has no place in this discussion.

Mind you, I think him tweeting about that is distasteful and extremely unprofessional. But we don't really know why he did it. I know reality shows are works, but WWE tries to present Total Divas as a cutting edge behind the scenes look at the real lives of Divas. So if they script their talent to be bitches, it's not surprising it sours opinions on them. As for Riley, he's been around for a while, so was JTG. If Riley does have a legit point of criticism to make against AJ, then I don't see how some drive-by-bitchy comment helps his cause. If he provided actual verifiable examples of her being problematic, it might make him look better.

I think to a certain extent it does. When you have a guy who's mocking a far more successful performer and not providing any specific argument as to why, it comes across as envious and bitter, and I think that does undermine his validity until at least he expands upon it with something more substantial. He worked with AJ. He knows her personality. If anybody would have a good reason to rag on her, it'd be him. What he did in his career has less than nothing to do with his personal experiences with AJ. And no, he absolutely should not have to go into specifics. Maybe he just thinks she's a bitch. In life, there are some people that just rub you the wrong way. That's humans. I've had jobs where I've outright hated some of the people I worked with. A few of them, I didn't even have a specific reason. I just flat out didn't like them. Did I say it to their face? Of course not because it's a professional setting and I needed to behave that way. But, those feelings didn't go away. Was Riley's comment bitter? Sure but he's more than welcome to express that viewpoint. He didn't just comment or criticise, though, he's mocking her. And if he's putting it in the public domain, he has to know people will want him to elaborate.

They did it for several weeks and since it was JBL it was louder and more obnoxious and impossible to avoid hearing. If it wasn't a part of a storyline, then why bother mentioning it at all and making a point to make it, especially since the reference would be lost on most of the audience? Kayfabe (if this to mean what occurs on WWE programming) does have a place in the discussion because the on-screen comments made during RAW, was the method Riley used to make the reference.

That's one of my points. You really don't need a good reason to not like someone. Sometimes, you just don't like someone. I'm not saying his comment wasn't petty because it was but there might be not be a real reason for him to give other than "I don't like her."

I agree with you completely but that's not what he's saying. He's taking a personal dig at her, in public (well, social media) which to me is an entirely different thing.

Eh, was it really that venomous?
If anything, it's a lil embarrassing because it was so weak. If you're gonna mock someone, go full bore with it.

People insult and mock people they don't like. It happens on here every day. Hell, I do it all the time. I'm just confused as to how this comment was any different than that. If anybody is gonna make a personal dig, it should be someone who's actually interacted with her like Riley has.
