So she waited for a week after Mania to do this, getting on the biggest show on the year and sharing the spotlight where she could of used the fact she was to retire to help someone? Pretty shitty She's under no obligations to do any of that though. And missing out on what's likely the biggest payday of the year would just be a dumb decision. She was offered a big payday, and took it. I'm no fan of her, but I see nothing wrong with that. She (any wrestler, really) owes WWE, or "the business" nothing. I really, really hate the idea that everything has to "put someone over" or give someone "a rub". |

AJ was awesome, this is a shame.
I have a feeling that eventually when Vince kicks the bucket the Divas division will be awesome judging by NXT. It's such a shame that AJ will just miss out on the women getting to be allowed to look good on the main roster.

As for AJ, as I said in another thread, she just didn't seem to know what she wanted to do with her character anymore so it's probably best she move on. I just wished she had put someone over before leaving. |

Hopefully it's due to a personal decision to retire from wrestling, and not serious injury like what happened to Edge. I imagine she will remain under contract until it's up, maybe will continue to work with WWE on projects, it doesn't outright say she will be leaving the company (as much as a 140 character tweet can express). Best of luck to her anyway!

Make your money and get out, that's the logic all wrestlers should follow. She essentially went out on top by having a match at Mania and retired. No shame in that. Besides, she had already put over the Bellas several times. Losing to them again would have had no benefit. To an extent I agree "make your money and get out", but it does bug me that people like Punk and AJ who talk about wanting changes made in how the talent are treated and paid and all that stuff simply say "f*** it, I got mine, peace" and THEN proceed to bash the company. Take a stand while you're there and on top. |

I'm sad for her fans that she's gone because reading through all this it's clear she meant a lot to a lot of people and it's never nice when one of your favourites is gone. I still remember as a kid how I felt when it became clear Bret Hart had left the WWE and I was devastated.
Having said that I was never really a fan of hers. She had a reputation for being a good worker but she always seemed pretty sloppy to me, especially so in the last 18 months when she's been on auto pilot. I thought she was a pretty terrible babyface too, incredibly smarmy and annoying. Even though I was ultimately a fan of CM Punk I had the same issues with him whenever he was face and she seemed to share a lot of his traits.
Fair play to her though, she was a lifelong fan and probably fulfilled a lot of her dreams and now she's getting out still healthy and young.
