Ascension being delusional about their status as legends? it got paid off when they got beat up by the acolytes on Raw. Ish. Then they did the thing of them beating the Outlaws that seemed to be to start building them up as genuine threats, then they just said screw it.

How about the Fake Kane story? He shows up, beats up the real Kane a few times, they have a match at the PPV (which Fake Kane won), the next night Real Kane beats him up and kicks him out the building.
Was there ever any kind of explanation for this, or was it part of the May 19th stuff?

Then they got there, and had no idea what to do at that point. So take Kane. And he took the guys mask off. The end.

Rusev vs. Ambrose from before the rumble. Really we could be here all day... you could also probably do this with any company How about the Fake Kane story? Was there ever any kind of explanation for this, or was it part of the May 19th stuff? They had to promote the release of See No Evil in theaters so they started the May 19th thing. Then they got there, and had no idea what to do at that point. So take Kane. And he took the guys mask off. The end. Fixed. It was the theatrical release not DVD. I do think Kane explained it slightly like hte week after Fake Kane showed up. The WWE realized that the phoney Kane looked ridiculous and the crowd was not into the feud so they just ended it quickly... in one of the funniest ways I ca nthink of... which was throwing fake kane out of the arena and taking his mask back.

Trevor Murdoch randomly singing "I have friends in low places" (I think), and then released the week after

I have a feeling that was originally going to end with Demolition showing up/going into the Hall of Fame... I have no proof of this but it really is the only thing that makes sense with their original promo mocking both Demolition and LOD, and then the WWE changing their minds for some reason.

Stephanie and Bischoff's office make-out session. This was eventually mentioned at the 'Trial of Eric Bischoff' as evidence that he was a manipulative slimeball

Kaitlyn turning heel and joining the Divas of Doom. They never aired that. So it technically never happened.

Trevor Murdoch randomly singing "I have friends in low places" (I think), and then released the week after It wasn't so much random, as it was done to show that Murdoch was more than the surly jackass he'd been acting like since he and Cade came in. He sang the "Friends in low places" song BEFORE Cade betrayed him (they did the usual few weeks of teasing tension before the betrayal by Cade). I seem to remember the 2 having a PPV match. Damn shame, as I think his Karaoke Cowboy gimmick was sorta fun, and could have worked.

"The New and Improved" Brown-Haired Dolph
"King Sheamus" (could have been a cool traditional Evil Gaelic King gimmick but was promptly dropped and his King of The Ring victory was barely spoken of again)
All Things Ernest Miller
Brakus (Hyped for months, debuted 2 years later, lost in the Brawl For All and jobbed hard in an ECW talent exchange)
Tom Magee (only wrestled one or two televised matches)
Public Enemy in WWF circa 1999
Mike Knox post-WWECW

Tyler Recs and Curt Hawkins debut a Magic Mike tag team then never show up again. While no reason may have been given on TV, the real life reason was that Tyler Reks decided to leave WWE in order to spend more time with his family.

Mystery blonde woman (Krissy Vaine) attacks Torrie Wilson on SmackDown, setting up some sort of feud with anybody willing to step up and vindicate Torrie. (The angle was to explain why Torrie was gone from WWE, so this wasn't just one of those "injury" angles.) Two weeks later (due to personal reasons), Krissy up and quits without one TV match and a handful on the house show circuit against Michelle McCool.
I'd like to think this was Krissy's purpose, "SAVE_US_FROM_CHLOE".

JBL asked Rey Mysterio what day it was then Kane murdered him.
