1. They have no real leader to be feared like Tywin, besides what could they actually do? Send an army? Bolton is the only real ally that they could use to rule the North. If the Lannisters were smart they would realize it is the only chance the North doesn't rise up and overthrow the Boltons. It's also worth noting that Tywin's "Overwhelm Robb Stark's force with sheer numbers" tactics pretty much cost Tywin most of his soldiers. Think about Sansa to is she is, for all intents to the general public, the last remaining Stark. Robb and Catelyn are dead, Jon is illegimate, and Arya, Bron, & Rickon are all presumed dead. Considering Westeros' obsession with lineage, Sansa is pretty much needed if someone wants to make a claim for the North. This is also why Stannis was so determined to legitimize Jon Snow.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the Lannister army got their butt kicked most of the time, I wouldn't think marching North would be a viable strategy for any army.

1) They don't mention it on the show, but in the books the Red Wedding yielded hostages from the major Northern Houses. The only ones left North were wives, daughters, sons and basically if they rebelled, they'd kill their dads. If the South didn't have that leverage, they'd go right to Winterfell and kill the Boltons. The only thing the Lannisters could do if they didn't have hostages is attack the Riverlands, but most of the North doesn't care about the Riverlands, it was only Robb because of his familiar ties.

"Hey, how about some male nudity to match all the female nudity?" "Here, you can look at the High Septon's old dimpled ass" "That's not quite what we meant"

Yeah I'm pretty sure the Lannister army got their butt kicked most of the time, I wouldn't think marching North would be a viable strategy for any army. And the fact that (as they stated) the Lannister army never marched that further North. They would have no knowledge of the field, no real allies, have to construct supply lines (which given the afformentioned circunstances would be rather difficult), getting the risk of overextending the army, Cersei only caring about Margaery nowadays and knowing nothing on tactics, her uncle doesn't seem to want to fight a war for the moment (and pretty much despising her) and so on and so forth. Again, as stated in the show: Reese Bolton allied with Tywin Lannister, not the Lannister house. Without the only really capable member of that family at the head of things, he would do good in finding other allies and soidifying his position as Warden of the North.

And how can Sansa marry anyone, given she's still wed to Tyrion? In Westeros a marriage isn't binding until it's consummated. Tyrion and Sansa never had sex so if Sansa was to marry another man and have sex with him, that would take precedence and be her legitimate marriage. How can they tell she's still a virgin? An exam beforehand and either examining the bedsheets afterwards or just straight up having witnesses to see the blood. ....I am not making this up, it's in the books!

what an AWESOME episode, not through action ..... but PSYCHOLOGY!
littlefinger is well on his way in his grand plan, stannis about to leave the wall ..... i think that jon snow will make a deal with the wildlings to protect the wall ..... and him getting revenge on that cowardly little git! there's no time in the night's watch for people who are afraid
maergery and cersei was incredible, all little twitches and looks away, probably thinking about stabbing each other in the eye with a massive sword or sommit so delicious that they TRULY HATE EACH OTHER! cersei's mind is all over the place what with jaime off to get their daughter ..... cersei move towards maergery at the end make it VERY clear, she ain't going anywhere! and might have found a nice ally in the high sparrow as well ..... building her own little confederacy!
and jorah ain't going anywhere either, not that he's got his "currency" to get back into daenerys's good books again
and who the bloody hell Is under that cloth in ..... I JUST READ ON GoTwiki who it is!!!!!
we can rebuild him
and arys couldn't have thrown the needle into the water ..... not for ANYTHING! almost heartbreaking to see her face while thinking about it
and i forgot about brienne and pog's conversation too ..... that was actually a very heartfelt story she told him, really nice! they two are bloody great, real pity she blatted the hound off that cliff ..... imagine if they were actually together, they would be bouncing off each other
soooooooooooooo wanna have him back on his feet!

And both are based on real medieval virginity tests of inspecting the hymen and examining the blood on the sheets when presumably she would lose her virginity. Now, both aren't accurate at all, but that's what was used at the time and inspired Martin.

I liked seeing Jon not taking any more crap from those old buzzards. I almost thought he'd let the old fart go, but thankfully he didn't. It made a good exclamation point on all the development he's had. Can't wait to see what happens with him and Stannis. I also am really excited to see Tyrion possibly end up in Dany's council. I don't think things are going to go the way Jorah thinks they will.

And just like that Tommen became my hero. If you can break that record, you break it with Natalie Dormer.

If she doesn't get him killed, Margaery and Tommen would actually be a pretty effective ruling couple. Two people with spotless public images, the former who is a supremely cunning plotter and the latter who is genuinely kind and wants to be a good king.

I'm loving the show going in a new direction. If they stuck closer to the books, we'd have Sansa and Littlefinger not doing much in the Vale, Brienne and Pod not doing much in the Crownlands and Reek and Ramsey not doing much at Winterfell. The show has managed to tie all these threads together and create a very intriguing storyline.

It's true, I love Brienne, but I'm working my way through the books just waiting for something to actually happen with her, feels like a waste of a great character.

Also really glad they kept in the Stannis nod.

For some reason, Sky is showing the next episode at 2am Monday morning. Has this been the way for Series Five so far? I thought the first showing was Monday nights at 9.
