Why are they spending so much time on grayscale? I believe that is leading to a pandemic of some sort in either Essos and/or Westeros. I could be wrong but that was always the impression I got.

GRRM needs to get off his ass if Stannis is marching south at this point in the season in the show. Smashing beetles is his only priority now.

No Cersei or King's Landing this week, so they've let her bask in her short-lived glory. A man must wait one more week. A man was tricked by them showing Braavos in an opening. EDIT: Also Stannis and Roose should compare notes on "not killing their barely born children".

So, we're supposed to root against Dany right? She fed an innocent to dragons. That's some Joffrey shit. It's pretty obvious to me that the whole point of Dany's character is that she's well-intentioned but misguided due to her youth as well as her desire to not appear weak.

Why is Stannis taking Selyse, Melisandre, and Shireen with him south? Does he really think they'd be safer in the middle of a potential warzone than with the Night's watch? To address Mel, I imagine she would have strongly lobbied to be brought along using the excuse that they lost at the Blackwater because she wasn't there. As for Shireen, again I would say Mel has a hand in this as I'm pretty sure she's being eyed up for the pyre. And Selyse because it'd be hard to justify bringing Shireen without her mother.

With the amount of time they have, I can see them not doing a plague, just giving Jorah a time limit on his adventures, and Shireen being a source of shame for her mum.

My theory has been greyscale is even deadlier for White Walkers and turns them to stone.

So, plot convenience? There's no logic behind that. Stannis had that big scene about loving and protecting his daughter, regardless of what others may say, and now ine suggestion by Mel makes him bring her to fight the Boltons?

Tywin Lannister : Huge mistake! Why is Stannis taking Selyse, Melisandre, and Shireen with him south? To address Mel, I imagine she would have strongly lobbied to be brought along using the excuse that they lost at the Blackwater because she wasn't there. No imagine about it, Melisandre had specifically said "You lost Blackwater because I wasn't there. I'm coming with you." about two episodes ago. Stannis said he's taking the wife and kid because half of The Watch are rapists and killers. He could still drop them at a friendly homestead along the way, but I'm betting they're with him at the front.

Happy to see Arya in the preview for next week. Im been a bit disappointed by how many episodes she has been in so it will be great to see her again. Maisie Williams is one of the best actors on the show so i hope she is featured more in the second half of the season

I have a confession. I know she's a badass character. I know she's well acted. I just really don't give a crap about Ayra Stark.

So Gendry? Is he floating off with Rickon somewhere?
What was even the point of Gendry really.

So Gendry? Is he floating off with Rickon somewhere? What was even the point of Gendry really. Remnant of season 1's storyline and to show the King's Blood having power stuff. Though they still haven't confirmed Balon Greyjoy's dead have they? Cuz then it's still 2 for 3.

So they replaced Connington with Jorah for the whole greyscale thing. I guess since that entire bit with the Shy Maid and its crew got cut entirely from the show, it makes sense. I don't like them using Valyria for the home of the Stone Men instead of the Sorrows (ruins of Chroyane, the Rhoynar Festival City). The Doom of Valyria was described in-universe as this massive cataclysmic event. The Smoking Sea and the ruins of Valyria look like just some ruins instead of a post-apocalyptic wasteland filled with smoking rocks, boiling hot water, and volcanoes. Valyria itself was also an inland city, even after the Doom, so even if the Smoking Sea was just a really foggy waterway and not Hell on Essos, you couldn't really pass through the ruins via boat. More than likely it was one of the other ruined cities like Tyria or Oros, which do lie along the Smoking Sea now. So Gendry? Is he floating off with Rickon somewhere? What was even the point of Gendry really. Remnant of season 1's storyline and to show the King's Blood having power stuff. Though they still haven't confirmed Balon Greyjoy's dead have they? Cuz then it's still 2 for 3. I think Balon's staying alive (for the time being) and ignoring the whole Kingsmoot/Euron storyline. They'll probably merge some of Euron's story stuff into Balon's character if it becomes a major plotpoint later. Not like a lot of the minor characters really resemble their book counterparts at this point.

I know, but still, they make a big deal about all the people Stannis uses magic against die, of all people Balon freaking Greyjoy lives? I'd take an offhanded comment about how he died so the Ironborn are fighting amongst themselves. Then you can leave them doing that, or bring them in later.

So Gendry? Is he floating off with Rickon somewhere? What was even the point of Gendry really. More hot potato from the writers. Same shit happened with the Blackfish and the Brothethood Withour Banners. That's what happens when you decide to cut stuff out without proper explanations for why and how that affects already established characters.
