Here's another legit badass who probably wasn't used right in the WWE. So why didn't McMahon try to recruit the "silent assassin" to go after Austin and the WWE title? Especially when he already recruited Shamrock to join the corporation. Would anyone here have like to see a WWE title program between Austin and Severn? He had the credibility of UFC behind him, so it's not like no one would buy him as a legit #1 contender.

No because Michael Cole always pronounced it as "Sevren" and I don't think I could bear that at main events

I remember at one point Triple H held an open challenge for the European title and Severn came down in a f***ing SUIT ready to kick some ass and the crowd went nuts but then Jim Cornette ran down and stopped the match from happening...for some reason.

Sure, corporate representation like Shane or Vince talking him up. Dan in a suit, looking mean. Give Cornette a mic (he was still around). Worth a shot, off brand show like Fully Loaded.

I though for a second, that this was going to be a parody of that Meng and Brock Lesnar thread when I first read the title.
On topic? I voted yes. I think they could have made that work pretty well.

I would have been perfectly fine with it, but if any bad ass deserved that type of spot it would have been Shamrock. Shamrock should have been a main eventer in 1998 & 1999 in my opinion.

The WWE championship belt should be replaced by Dan Severn's mustache.

I could never get past the fact that he looked like a roided up Freddy Mercury.

Bad ass or not, he didn't really belong in the ring with Austin.

Would've been weird once they got in the ring. Austin was pure brawler at the time, with Severn being the opposite. Austin would've had to bump around on suplexes, and fans would have to buy that Severn's less visually exciting style as a threat to the head ass-kicker in the WWf.
Wrong time, wrong place. Can't see it working well.

I love Severn and even enjoyed him back then when I wasn't really into MMA. This would have been awesome. I've been watching a lot of the old UFCs lately and Dan really is "the beast"

I could never get past the fact that he looked like a roided up Freddy Mercury. Which is why he should have been champ!

He was supposed to be in the Ministry of Darkness as "The Beast" with 666 on his forehead.

People sure do look back fondly at Dan and Blackman. Severn was THE channel changer for me at the time.

I could never get past the fact that he looked like a roided up Freddy Mercury. Performing Another One Bites The Dust after a victory ala JYD would have made his career: www.youtube.com/watch?v=tEANstyOMtk

Cornette and Severn are like the Squidbilly version of Heyman and Bork...
