I saw this posted on Facebook. You have two Ric Flair rip offs wrestling each other on the same card as bootleg Young Bucks. I remember in the past I've seen a different promotion promoting a show with fake Briscoes. Whenever I see something like this I just think it's hilararous.

Chic's been wrestling with that gimmick since the 80's (maybe a little earlier). Think Paul Lee is the promoter, hence the main event spot.

I've always been curious, why do some of these people masquerade as the poorest-man versions of more popular wrestlers? I mean, your own career will never take off, you look like a fool, why bother? Are they that limited in creativity?

Are they that limited in creativity? Likely the same reason that musicians will form cover bands instead of doing original music. Your own career WILL never take off- and likely by the time they do it, they know it- but at the same time, you'll be more likely to get booked by playing a bad poorest-man version of this popular act, doing the biggest parts of their arsenal- and end up with far, far more people going to see you because they won't be able to see the famous act in question, so you're the next best thing for a discount price.

I've seen Chic Donovan live. The man is basically living beef jerky with how ridiculously tan he is.

This isn't a proper indy show without an increasingly poor version of Doink running around.

Your life is devoid of all meaning if you're impersonating X-Pac(even in the late 90s)

Bret Rico IS DX. Don't know how one guy can be an entire stable, but Bret Rico somehow is.
