The Jersey area has or had a lot... - The aforementioned One Warrior Nation. - "Original oddity" Golga...promoted years after John Tenta died. - Mor-Ta-Ta, the "tribute to Chris Kanyon" - The Sons of Kamala (formerly Nigerian Nightmares, I think) - And let us not get started on Tom Brandi as the Patriot. - PWS as a heavy hitter in the indy world, of ROH caliber ;-) As I understand it, Wilkes sold the gimmick to Brandi.

I've heard that, and I've heard that Wilkes says that that's bullshit, and Brandi just started doing it.

How many Stone Cold ripoffs have there been? I remember one dude at a WalMart in Mississippi who had 4x6 Austin photos and signed his own gimmicked name on then. This, at the height of the boom period. My wife saw him, "Is that Stone Cold?" "Nah, just some local guy." I walked away. Wife comes back a few minutes later with the autograph. "I paid $5." "Mine's worth more, and I give you that for free every week when I sign my paycheck."

Doing the Brahma Bulls of London! Well I saw a Brahma Bull eating a poontang pie down at Trader Vick's. His eyebrow was perfect.

I've always been curious, why do some of these people masquerade as the poorest-man versions of more popular wrestlers? I mean, your own career will never take off, you look like a fool, why bother? Are they that limited in creativity? I had an ex who wrestles as a fake Dolph Ziggler. It's a thing they generally do on the side, while having a regular gimmick. People will go to these shows, and less to a regular indy. It's like funding the growth of your band's music career by doing an aside as a Kings of Leon tribute act or something.

I would see video of that wwf tribute show. Just to see how horribly embarrassing it was.

Not just a ripoff indy gimmick, but a replica belt where they stuck some masking tape on it and wrote the company initials.
