I actually really liked the Mandarin twist in IM3.
On retcon that doesn't make much sense to me is what DC did to Fairchild, making it where she could change back and forth between mousy little thing and Amazonian bombshell.
Basically, DC decided to make her their She-Hulk, then seemingly threw her away a year later.

I didn't read Endgame... mainly cause I'm lazy... but I hated how he was Death of the Family... where they basically made him invulnerable because reasons Also from what I remember they ended it with Joker doesn't know who they are because he doesn't want to. Which makes sense... BUT some of his traps only work if he knows who they are...

Would the Marvel One-Shot that had the Ten Rings kidnap Trevor so the real Mandarin could personally kill him for impersonating him count as a retcon of the IM3 retcon?

not sure if it counts as a retcon but Marvel in the Guardians of the Galaxy making the original team with Yondu a team that exists either in the future or from a different timeline

Nobody shot JR, it was just a dream. So was Peg Bundy's pregnancy. Bobby didn't die, Katherine didn't die, Mark didn't return from the dead and Jamie didn't die twice but JR was definitely shot.

For some reason I seem to remember it being the same time universe that the 70s Killraven stuff happened in.

I believe that duing DnA's run on the book they retconned it so that the modern day Guardians were in fact the founding of the team that existed in the future.

But that changes a bunch of stuff. And causes more problems. Cause IIRC Vance Astrovik of the Guardians went into space in the late 90s. But in the 616 universe that never happened. He at first tagged around with the Thing. Then joined the New Warriors.

The New 52 New Gods.
......Barry trying to go back in time to save his mommy rewrote not only EVERYTHING about the world, but also rewrote THE FRIGGIN GODS.
And all of Kirby's wonderous origins -- kaput.
Yeah.........NO.

For me, stuff like new 52 didn't make me a pissed off fanboy or whatever so much as it did just make me not care. There was no rage or even anger; it was more: "rebooting everything, but not really, but kind of to where stuff generally will make way less sense than more? No thank you."
So for me at least, it was an excellent jumping OFF point. It doesn't even have much to do with the quality of the new brand itself. I just didn't care any more.

That is how I am with Marvel's 616 universe and DC's main universe. Gave up on both in the late 90s. Every few years I try them out again and see nothing really has changed to make them more appealing to me. Thankfully there is so many great indy books out. Like The Black Hood from Archie. The Crossed stuff from Avatar and even though they are done now Iredeemable and Incorruptable from Boom.

Favourite - Although a bit of a mess, making it so Magneto wasn't the one who basically tried to wipe out New York in the most tasteless manner imaginable was the best thing to do really. God that was stupid.
Least Favourite - Making it so Cass Cain doesn't exist. That and basically making Captain Marvel into a cynical styled story didn't endear me to DC at all.

Samuel Shaw goes from having a bachelor pad with a room dedicated to his obsession with Christy Hemme to living in his childhood bedroom with his mom who looks just like Christy Hemme
