Lucha Dragons and Ascension are locks for this. But they're so busy on the main roster! Since NXT is taped, I don't think it matters whether anyone is busy or not. Hell, I would throw in New Day members Big E and Xavier Woods, along with the Prime Time Players (they're the tag champs, but they were on the old NXT). |

This tournament absolutely has to end on a face getting screwed via a bullshit DQ or a reverse decision or something. Nah, Rusev turns face and teams with Cena to win the tourney. Cue neon America's Team t-shirt. |

Tournaments are such an easy and believable rationale for setting up matches that it's unfathomable to me that the WWE doesn't do them all the time. Instead of throwing out random matches and rematches between guys who aren't doing anything, they could quickly put it into a tournament bracket for a midcard belt, and everyone would instantly understand it. So yes, tournaments are good. Even better if this is a way of having some Japanese guys come in and showcase their talents. NXT isn't just new ideas, it's old ideas that feel fresh because Vince and Dunn have long since decided that they don't work for their product. Wanting to say I've heard tournaments tend to do poor ratings because people just see them as not being worth watching until the finals. Know I've definitely heard similar for why they never do Iron Man matches and, while I could say more tournaments would be worth doing, thank god for that because I f***ing hate Iron Man matches. |

Lethal Lottery would make the most sense for a Dusty Rhodes memorial since it was one of his ideas.
But it will probably just be a tag team tournament which is fine.
It did sound like outside teams might get booked for it, which is cool.
Not sure on the prize tag title shot makes sense... but I prefer tournament winners to definitly get something semi tangible and not just an opportunity...
Also it being something like a trophy or a medal or something makes it easier to suspend my disbelief that an outside team would win.

I hope this is how new guys get to debut. {Spoiler}Gargano/ciampa could be a great team Hoping this is similar to the g-1 or champions carnival league style instead of single elimination. Especially considering all the tag teams in nxt currently. I want Joe and Rhyno as the salty vets. Heck bring in london and kendrick for the tourney. |
