So...thoughts on this freaky, awkward little parody of randon Arnold movies, Hollywood and god knows what else?
I still kinda like it, but it's also one of those movies where I can totally understand why someone wouldn't, it can get fairly confusing. Arnold's great at being droll, Charles Dance is a lot of fun as the villain, and Austin O'Brien can get annoyingly meta at times, but I think he's pretty convincing and easier to root for in his more serious scenes.
I enjoy it for shallow reasons, it's shot great with some cool action sequences, a badass soundtrack, and Bridgette Wilson being cute.

Had they adjusted the tone a little better and released the film a few years later it probably would have hailed in the popular press as a very solid picture.

I freaking love this movie!!!! I remember watching this on repeat during sophomore year summer school back in 2001 cause I had to do so much homework for my Geometry Honors class.
I used the movie as a countdown clock. I iced that class....cone the phrase lol
I thought that because it came out during the same week as Jurassic Park, LAH never got a fair chance.

It's a lot like Hudson Hawk in that the production got out of control and the lead up promotion was so smug, like "You know you'll see it." It had to be a bomb on release.
Still a super fun movie...Top 10 for Arnold.

I quite like Charles Dance with his nifty eyeball, and the genre jokes were fun. Not like, a favorite movie of mine or anything, but I think time has been kinder to it the further away it is from its release.

Awesome movie. I can't believe it got slammed so much. Probably because people didn't realize it was a parody.

Is this the movie where Arnold can't figure out why the cars don't explode when he shoots them with the pistol because he left "movie land" and is now in reality?

Watched it for the first time a few months ago. It was alright. I thought the third act seemed out of place, but outside of that it was okay.

Great flick, except for the kid. The kid is awful. The movie would have been a lot better without the kid. Yes, they could have still found a way to make it work without the kid.

I'm super surprised to see how many people dig it here, considering the amount of people that have shat on it over the years.
Robin Quivers from The Howard Stern Show said it was the greatest movie she had seen, at the time...ha
