We had a thread on truly nice wrestlers so I thought we'd have one on actors.
I would have to say Michael Landon. Every time another actor is asked about him they seem to melt in their chairs from positive feelings.

I've done some work as an extra so I'd like to say me. James Van Der Beek once asked me to refill his water bottle and I did so.

Never heard a bad word said about Robin Williams by those who knew him. From what I know, Adam Sandler seems like a nice chap as well.

Sure, Adam Sandler's creative well has dried up (and in recent months, gone off the deep end), but he seems like a swell guy.

My moms friend says Tom Hanks is really nice.
On the flip side, I've heard from two people that Matt Damon is a jerk that acts all uppity like he doesn't have time for the little people.

Considering Johnny Depp keeps a Jack Sparrow costume in his car whenever he goes to visit kids on the hospital, I'd say he's up there.

I've never heard anything bad about Tom Cruise.
People think he's crazy, but I've never heard anything about him not being a great guy on set.

Forbes does an annual list of "Most Trustworthy Celebrities," and results are still available online. Traditionally, Michael J. Fox, James Earl Jones, Morgan Freeman and Tom Hanks have made regular appearances. I've never heard anything bad about Tom Cruise. People think he's crazy, but I've never heard anything about him not being a great guy on set. I believe Cruise made it onto the list one year.

Adam Sandler probably wouldn't make the list from the kids in the Billy Madison kickball scene. He apparently *really* hit all the kids that hard, and they had to do quick cuts because he reduced them to tears. He apparently did take them to Chuck E. Cheese, but still, they could have very easily faked that and got like the exact same result.

I've heard several Actors/Directors say that Peter Serafinowicz is one of the nicest guys ever. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg said they always felt so bad always casting Serafinowicz as a bad guy because he was just about the nicest man in the world.

Depp was once ranked the best autograph giver, so there's that.
I read a thing that claimed Kevin James was a complete diva, getting pissed off when waiters and such address him directly instead of relaying things through his assistants.
Which sounds so absolutely, utterly improbable.

Paul Newman was said to be way up on the list during his career. In addition to being about as unself-important as any massive star ever (Sidney Lumet wrote that he expected to be treated the same as every other member of the film crew), the Newman's Own food products line as generated hundreds of millions for charity.
