Just home from Cardiff, what an experience. We got the expected result yesterday and need to build on that. Should beat Romania easily and would expect to win against Italy and that would leave a massive match against France to see who tops the group.
It was a great day except for the poor train service between Cardiff and London. Massive wait for trains, long delays and over crowding. Other than that Cardiff looks a lovely city and the Millenium stadium is fantastic.
Also the Canadian fans were great. Great to see such a big support for Canada. I mean they were outnumbered by the Irish fans but that's to be expected as this match was so close to home for us and we're a big rugby playing nation. But there were big pockets of Canadian fans all over the stadium and they were really loud and gave their team fantastic support.
Massive shock for Japan too, when the result came in there were huge cheers all around us near the train station. Biggest win in their history.

Just got tickets for the Canada v Italy game at Elland Road on Saturday. It will be my first ever Rugby Union game.
As I said earlier in the thread, I'm not a huge fan of the sport, but when a major sporting event is happening on your doorstep you have to take part. I'll be cheering on the Canadians!

That's what I thought with the Olympics 3 years ago I had to be there it could be the only time in my lifetime we hosted it. Looks like you chose a good game Canada pushed Italy hard. Really looking forward to England v Wales later. Will be a great game hopefully.

I was lucky enough to experience an Olympics (2000) & RWC (2003) in my hometown so I'm jealous of you pommies at the moment.

Sadly missed out on the Olympics but we did have the Tour De France start in Leeds last year and part of the route was about a 30 seconds walk from my house. Yeah it certainly was an entertaining game. A lot more free flowing action than I expected and it was nice to see the underdog challenge and almost pull off an upset. There were a lot of Canadian fans in the crowd today (most dressed as Mounties and a large group dressed as lumberjacks!) and there was a great atmosphere in the centre of Leeds all day. 35 quid well spent overall

England's loss to Wales means they must beat Australia to avoid an embarrassing first round knockout as hosts. Cmon The Wallabies!

Not nice to know England could go out the tournament as early as next week if they lose to Australia. Very tense game last night think Wales deserved it on their 2nd half performance.

After The Ashes debacle all Australians are REALLY hoping that The Wallabies roll England. Serious dose of Schadenfreude.

Abject performance by England. Awful work at the breakdown. Referee's didn't help like but it was more on us than anything else.

First hosts to be knocked out in the pool stage, first former champions to be knocked out in the pool stage. I'm one very happy Australian today.

Quarter Finals
South Africa v Wales
New Zealand v France
Ireland v Argentina
Australia v Scotland
Special mention to Japan, won 3 out of 4 pool games but miss the quarter finals. Will definitely be a team to watch in four years when they host the tournament.

New Zealand destroying France here, I've lost count on how many tries they have (8 or 9?)
Final score 62-13
South Africa scored a late try to beat Wales in a tight game.

Argentina straight up dominating Ireland early on. 17-0 after 15 minutes, long way back for them now.
