Third episode is a real legit 'great' episode, even if I found a few moments a little too silly.

Sweet Jesus, episode 3 is one of the best episodes they've ever done. Mulder explaining his outlandish hypotheses to a bemused Scully ending in her calling him "batcrap crazy" was glorious.

All things considered, this season has been excellent. They've really captured the magic of the first three seasons.

The opener was always going to be hampered by the need to tie together the major loose threads and retcon a few superfluous ones, so I was never expecting it to be great. From what I've read neither David Duchovny or Gillian Anderson will commit to a full season, but are happy to continue with more six-episode mini seasons. If it means more episodes like the last three, I'm definitely all in favour.

Yeah, between the clusterf*** that was season 9, plus the movie, the overarching story definitely needed some cleaning up, so it's understandable. I read the same thing, and honestly, I'll take quality over quantity at this point. The writing this season has been superb, and Duchovny and Anderson's chemistry is just as good as it was 20 years ago.

The guy playing Agent Miller looked very much like Tom Cruise in his younger years. (Yeah, I know it's Firestorm from The Flash.)

I've really enjoyed the return of the series. The first episode was pretty much all over the place and the second one was somewhat 'meh', but the third episode was full of the fun of the original run. I thought that last week's Trashman episode was a pretty good social commentary/monster of the week episode and this week's Babylon had a good mixture of poignant and humorous moments.
I'll be interested to see if the finale, My Struggle II, improves upon its predecessor. In any event, I'll definitely be buying the mini-season to add to the collection when it comes out.

Hopefully we get more, because they've managed to hit their stride with just six episodes allotted to them.

I have really enjoyed this season and am stoked for the finale next week. Like others have said, I hope they return next year even if it is for another six episodes.

It's interesting, though... reading the forum on IMDB most people seemed to hate "Babylon". I know that that forum is particularly notorious for trolls, but it seems like lots of folks legitimately felt it was one of the 'worst episodes ever'.

Honestly, IMDb is the biggest group of cynics I've ever seen. Nothing's ever good enough for them. Probably not the best place to go for an honest critique of anything.
