Everyone hits rock bottom, what was your teams?
Orioles - August 22, 2007, we lost a double header to Texas 30-3 and 9-7. We were outscored 39-10 in 2 games the day we gave Dave Trembley an extension.
Rams - The Jets game in 2008. We were down 40-0 at halftime
Lakers - The 2004 NBA Finals. Just a sad display by a team that should have won it all. Egos killed that time.
Kings - The mid-2000s, garbage era. The last 3 years have been a wonderful time.
Maryland Football - Losing 35-7 to Temple in 2011. Steamrolled by Bernard Pierce, who had 5 TDs.
Maryland Basketball - Losing 89-63 to Iona in 2011. I know Iona makes the tourney regularly but we should not lose that bad to that type of team.
Notre Dame Football - The Boston College game in 2008. Shut out 17-0 by BC. Jeff Jagodzinski asked all of his players before the game, how many were recruited by Notre Dame. None raised their hands. Put things in perspective.
Notre Dame Basketball - Indiana State in 2013. Home game, but lose by 13 to a team that lost 11 games that season. That year did make 2014-15 bittersweet though. A shame we couldn't beat Kentucky, so close.
My 5th Grade Football Team - The entire season, we just kept getting steamrolled. We had no team at all and it showed. Amazing the core of that 2001 team was the basis of my High School's 2008 9-2 playoff team.
My Freshman Football Team - We lost to our rival Smithsburg 24-0 at home in the last game. The worst part came on a 4th and 20 from their 2 yard line, they called a fake punt and took it 98 yards for a touchdown on a run. The good news was their was holding on the play. The bad news was we still lost 24-0.
My Flag Football Team - I coach a team in Hagerstown in a league. We lost 7-0 in a playoff game last season in a game where the opposing team only dressed 10 players. It was a hot and humid morning and so the idea was to wear them down early with our offensive line and passing attack. The main storyline coming into the game was my cousin was reinstated as starting quarterback in spite of the fact he was turnover prone and had been sacked 10 times in the previous game (our offensive line gave him time, he just wouldn't throw). He was the owner of the team and we were in an awkward spot where my entire family attended the game, I couldn't bench him out of fear of retribution, so I kept him in. He threw 2 picks and was sacked 4 times. We couldn't move the ball at all and we lost 7-0 to a bad team that was severely undermanned team that went 2-6 that season. After the game our entire sideline broke out in a fight, the commissioner got involved, one of my relatives dropped the "n" bomb on one of the players and the team split off. It was probably one of the most humiliating moments in my life.
