It's like wrestling booking with a double count out finish. Neither guy really went over that day and they both got put on the shelf to build to a rematch they've traded wins later (Hunter/Prey, Reign of Doomsday), so the idea has got to be Doomsday and Supes are basically equal. In fact I'm fairly sure Reign of Doomsday was to establish him as the end-all/be-all of Supes' villains (powerlevel-wise, anyway) since he was the final boss before New 52 started Doomsday's entire powerset is based off on teh fact that he dies a lot. So if it's a battle to the death Hulk wins... becuase that's literally Doomsday's power. Hulk's power is his rage and he doesn't have an upper power level... he just gets angrier and stronger. Dying and coming back stronger is a major part of his gimmick, that's true...but to be fair, DC's broadened that into a general "adaptation" thing, with him pulling powers and resistances out of his ass in mid-fight to turn the tide Not like it would mean much against the Hulk, since he's a pure brawler, but yeah.

I really hate it when they put nigh-immortal characters in these fights (Deadpool, Scorpion, etc) because it creates so many questions. Doomsday can die, yes; but he never actually stays dead. He always comes back to life even stronger than he was before. So, when (and it's almost definitely a 'when, not an 'if') Hulk kills Doomsday, does that end the fight? Or does Doomsday just keep getting back up until he wins a war of attrition against the non-immortal Hulk?
And was anyone else kind of hoping that Hulk would be fighting Saitama? The fan rage for that fight could have had the potential to dethrone Supes vs Goku.

Did they say which version on the Hulk they're using? It does make a difference

This is how I expect the Death Battle to go.
Hulk destroys Doomsday, which should be the end because again it's a battle to the death and Doomsday would die, Hulk turns back into Banner, Doomsday respawns and kills Banner.

So, the next Death Battle is Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie, and... I feel like this is not going to be a repeat where a colorful cartoon horse wins because their opponent is incompetent beyond all belief.

I dunno. Pinkie runs on cartoon logic, which trumps Deadpool's fourth wall breaking. Yes Deadpool defies logic but Pinkie can wrap reality at her whim. Hell the fight may even end a draw because they become friends.
