This episode was awesome. I loved all the costumes, the references to the past, vampire fruit bat as one of the possible costumes. I loved Spike's un finished costume. Here is one thing to notice, Scootaloo is dressed as a Shadowbolt, which is the same costume Rainbow Dash wore in the last Nightmare Night episode, so is in character for Scootaloo to be a follower and follow Rainbow Dash's lead. Ha ha ha. I over Pinkie Pie foxy brown costume, Twilight as a night, a princess as a night, Rainbow Dash an astronaut does space even in this world, and Applejack as the cowardly lion?
Dam those Cutie Mark Crusaders, those delinquents, they ought to be in jail, toilet papering the trees.
I loved how Fluttershy attempted haunted house, a mask less masker - aid ball, and the tea party was scary, no sugar, Nooooo.
Leave it to Angel to help Fluttershy scare the others, he has a dark side, I told he is evil.
But yeah Fluttershy was a party pooper, but she knew it, she is trying her best. Fluttershy deciding to take baby steps, it was like the "Filli Vinilli" episode. I liked the message that friends don't have to do everything together.
Is just me or was there a Jem pony, I guess returning the favor from the IDW comics.
A great episode, only complaint, could have used a little Luna, I mean just for a cameo.

I did watch this one when it was first leaked, so now I can actually put a score on an episode. I give it a 9. The only part I didn't really like was Fluttershy's attempt at a scary Halloween party. When she came up with the second part, it was better. I did like Twilight-hime's costume as a soldier. Applejack as a Lion was adorable. Pinkie as one of the Holograms was different. Rarity as the Little Mermaid was a nice reference. And Rainbow Dash? {Spoiler}  ORBIT!! ADVENTURE!! ANT!!!!So, it was a good episode all around. |

Either someone saw the episode early or they're a premature voter.  It's been leaked for over a month, and it's aired here in Canada last week. So I gave my number. I'll give why Post-ep i've been a good boy and NOT SEEN IT!all you are like opening your presents in april  i will watch it after the rugby world cup final, 'cos i also want to see the last TWO weeks of doctor who too!!! god i'm so behind in things so be good pony hoomans or lord buckethead is gonna be mad and shot you with his death ray  |

8 feels about right for this episode. Plenty entertaining and a good message of "You can dislike things your friends like doing and it's ok to opt out of it. If they're your friends, they'll understand."

Gave it a 10. Loved the episode when I first saw it a few weeks ago, and still love it now. Loved the mane 6 costumes, Princess TwiDerpy, the haunted maze, Fluttershy's attempt at being scary (first and second time). I celebrate Halloween pretty much the same way Fluttershy does (minus the bears, birds, rabbit and spider), just by being reclusive and I enjoy it much better that way. Another reason she is my favorite. |

"Scare Master"...gets an 8/10 from me. The pros: -Just like last Nightmare Night, there was some great ghouly and spooky atmosphere throughout the whole episode. I loved the costume designs for most of the ponies (although Lemon Hearts needs to go as something different next time, does she only have the mouse costume?), the scary cornfield maze was nice as was the underground tree cave. Just loved the whole imagery and the ideas behind Nightmare Night. -Fluttershy was for the most part very entertaining. Loved her Flutterbat costume and the ideas she came up with Angel to scare the others as well as her scaaaaary tea party. Also loved the callbacks to Filli Vanilli and her scared reactions (well, except for one). -The other ponies had also decent time to shine and had some good moments (AJ and Rarity the most) and Spike with his costume was also LOL. The group reaction shot of them all being scared definitely was a Remember It moment. -I thought the moral at the end had some sound logic in it. Fluttershy participated in a way where she would not be scared but found she did not like scaring her best friends. And since she does so many activities with them, it is no biggie that she tags out once a year at Nightmare Night and snuggles up in her cottage. I can understand that reasoning and I found it a good twist of the usual "scared friend ends up liking it". -Again an episode with no pacing issues. Everything went as long as it should be without a hitch. The cons: -OK, I am perhaps along with Eunos the most forgiving of Fluttershy but even I found her reaction at Carousel Boutique to the things they did TOO over the top for her. They were almost paranoia-levels of fear displayed there and I did not like it one bit. Fluttershy should not be THAT much of a scaredy cat. -Angel was a d''' in the beginning showing unpleasent shades of "Putting Your Hoof Down" again and I would have preferred if Fluttershy herself came up with the scares herself instead of asking Angel for ideas. It would have made the episode stronger IMHO. -Thought the CMC would play a bigger role. Not that much of a prob, but I would have loved a bit more incorporatin of them. So yeah, 8/10 sounds right. |

what an excellent episode of SPOOOOOOKINESS loads of call backs at the start and more bloody FORESHADOWING for my idea of fluttershy turning into the new nightmare moon ..... which won't happen  |
