Even as someone who likes the show more than most, that doesn't do anything for me.

Even as someone who likes the show more than most, that doesn't do anything for me. It reminds me a lot of the Eternals trailer. There's nothing happening in it. I mean, stuff is happening, but that's all there is, random stuff. There's nothing there to make you emotionally invested in it or give you any reason why you should care. They talk about some kind of threat, an "anomaly", but they don't even remotely give you any clue as to what it is or why it's a threat. Characters appear, but do nothing to make you care what about they're doing, and say nothing of consequence. It's just a mess of blinking lights, over-produced special effects and empty platitudes. Oh, and a melted Ferengi.

The extra tweet basically reflects my opinion (and uses a gag from Lower Decks that you can all still watch on Amazon internationally, by the way).
And as a reference, the North American launch dates are still as they are.

Considering a lot of the cast were just in the UK for the Star Trek convention there and promoting the new series, I can imagine they’d be annoyed if they spent their time telling people it was coming at around the same time as America.

Yeah, they had the cast hyping up the release over here big time due to the UK having the strongest international viewing figures. To have them do that and then pull this shit is a kick in the nuts for both the viewers and the cast.

And also, you pretty much want people to be interested in Paramount+ when it gets launched over here, right? A good way of doing that would be to not yank something away for a service that isn’t even coming to one of your strongest viewing figures until next year and instead resort to other means when it does launch next month (and I’m not condoning it, but that’s absolutely what people are going to do).

Well, luckily this seems to not affect the deal with Crave here in Canada, the new season debuts this week. Paramount+ has been available here since launch, but for whatever reason they sold off the rights to their exclusives and really haven’t promoted it at all.

Yeah, Crave gets it on the 19th November, the day after it premieres on both Paramount+ and the CTV Sci-Fi channel. Just to inform those who are now the only people able to watch it.

We’ve actually gotten really lucky here in Canada, most US streaming services sell off their exclusives to Netflix, Amazon or Crave so we aren’t spread too thin with streaming services. HBO Max and Peacock don’t exist here, Paramount+ is basically non existent. I pay for Disney+ and Amazon Prime, folks pay for Netflix and Crave+HBO. It’s a good system.

You mean you weren't impressed by noise.....image....lens flare....scene.....noise....image....mystery box dialogue.....noise.....scene.....lens flare.....praise of lead character.....noise.....scene.....etc..... repeatedly over and over again?

Really disappointing move, I'd just finished watching Series 3 with my partner, we've made our way through the whole series this year togetherin person and over Discord, and were looking forward to being able to watch the new stuff together as well. But now that's going to be even more awkward, at least with Netflix we could count down, skip the intros/recaps easily, etc.
And like, if people want to avoid spoilers they'll be driven towards piracy, and all that does is hurt the show. I want it to get good viewing figures and show that people over here like it and deserves the investment.

There’s more to the thread but I wasn’t going to try and get it in with how tweets can be shared.

Like I said before, a lot of the actors, Blu included, made the trip to the UK to promote Discovery on Netflix and I can't blame them for feeling that journey was wasted because two companies had a strop.
