Skeptical of this show due to that trailer, but f*** do I love seeing all the DS9 love. Probably my favourite series, but I do really love TOS. Like was mentioned, once they started transitioning into a much more serial style series DS9 became just amazing. Gul Dukat is the best villian Trek has ever done. Despite Berman and Braga's best efforts, they couldn't kill DS9. If anything, it strengthened our resolve to own the show and champion it.

If Berman had his way, the Dominion War would have been over in four episodes.
Thankfully Ira Stephen Behr protected the show and Berman had to be satisfied with turning Voyager into the bland, lifeless, mess it was.

Honestly I'm more a TNG person than I am DS9, but DS9's certainly good too and can get where someone would prefer it.

I wish we had more than those two scenes in the pilot between Sisko and Picard.
The Great Enunciation War of 2365!!!

Q messes with Picard for 7 seasons. Q tries to mess with Sisko ONCE and gets KTFO. Don't f*** with The Sisko. I always found that scene interesting. Here we have Q, an omnipotent being of God-like stature. On the other side we have Commander Ben Sisko (at the time he was Commander), the man with the combadge that says "Bad Motherf***er" on the back. He throws a punch at Q. Now, I can see where Q would be taken aback by this and run off but....for the punch to connect? On Q!?!?! How did Q even allow that to connect? Why did Q feel presumably pain from that? The only thing I can come up with is that in that brief moment Q figured out that he was {Spoiler}{Spoiler}The Emmissary of the Prophets and would become one/or is already one? , and got the hell out of there and was like "I'M OUT THIS BITCH". I wonder if that was a super stealthy spoiler or epic foreshadowing going on there. Otherwise I don't know how a human could knock a Q on his ass.

I think Q was just messing with him, really. Then again, I don't know how relatively powerful a Bajoran prophet is compared to Q. We've seen the Prophets do some really crazy things before (like making an entire Dominion fleet disappear within the Bajoran Wormhole) and their orbs are also extremely powerful, but the Q are omnipotent and omniscient.
While for the most part I like the Discovery-era uniforms (somewhat reminiscent of the ones on the USS Kelvin), there is a part of their design that bothers me more than it really should. There seems to be a distinct lack of any sort of indicator of rank, either through the TOS-era stripes on the sleeves, insignia pins in the TOS movies, or pips as used by ENT and the mid-late 24th century-era Starfleets. I thought at first it could've been the stripes on their shoulders, but everyone from the Captain to the junior officers have the same amount of stripes.

CTV News in Canada is currently doing a piece about how ST:D features the first gay ST character, but wasn't Sulu gay in the new timeline?

CTV News evidently either didn't do their homework, or are referring to the fact that this will be the first gay character who's sexuality is openly addressed on-screen.

The premiere is being delayed on both regular television and CBS All Access because of football.
I'm not sure why a football game airing on TV has to affect CBSAA, other than CBS wants to simulcast, but it seems like a bad move if you want people to buy your streaming service to not air it at the time it was advertised.
EDIT: Discovery should air at 8:48 PM EST. So, 17 minutes from now.

I'm actually not even looking forward to this much at this point. The Orville is already a great Star Trek show.

Once the episodes air, will they be available on demand on All Access? If so, then I'll wait and probably binge watch.

So far it's enjoyable, though I can't get used to the new look of these Klingons. But then they seem to be some sort of weird faction isolated from the rest of the Klingon Empire, so maybe we'll get more traditional looking (or human-ish post-Augment Virus) Klingons when the regular Klingons make their appearances.

I haven't watched. I'm interested, just not interested enough to give CBS money to watch.

If you look closely, the blue SPD power ranger is on the crew.

Not sure how I feel about this. The show looks great, costumes, sets, SFX all looked solid. Did not care for them using the Kelvinverse Klingon look, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Didn't really get into any of the characters yet other then Michelle Yeoh, although Doug Jones character could have potential, but they still have 13 episodes to win me over.
Overall, I'd likely give it a solid 7/10. There's definitely potential here, but it hasn't won me over yet.

I enjoyed the first two episodes. My only real gripe is the entirely forgettable main theme.

The two guys who did the Klingon look are Star Trek fans but Glenn Hetrick and Neville Page like to put their own twist to things

For me a memorable main title theme is one of the staples of Trek, whether it's a show or a movie. Some are iconic, others not so much, but they all stick in my head. I immediately forgot everything about Discovery's save for the Alexander Courage homage. It's a minor gripe, of course, and the in-show music seems on point.
