Indy Fuel are offering a deal where you go to three mid-week home games for $30 altogether, which includes all-you-can-eat burgers, hot dogs, and nachos.
Oh, I'm gonna use that as a cheat day and take advantage of it.

Seguin is out of Team Canada. Taylor Hall is snubbed again. Ryan o Reilly is in. Taylor Hall continues being the most underappreciated player in the game. Seriously this is baffling like I think he pissed in Mike Babcocks cornflakes one time

I know, it's pretty much a sham, but I can't help but to get into it. Not to mention that all of the games have been pretty intense; the players are taking this seriously. So yeah, anybody else hyped?

Like they are practically the future Team Canada and Team USA roster and it'll be the only time outside of an all star game to see Eichel/McDavid/Gaudreau/Ekblad/Matthews/etc play meaningful hockey together.

Some hype here for team Finland. Got exciting lineup of young players, with offensive line of Sebastian Aho, Aleksander Barkov and Patrik Laine being a particularly interesting trio.

I had no interest in the WCOH until I saw the prices for tickets on the secondary market. Now, I think I might go to a couple of games.
Lower bowl tickets for US/Czech Republic this afternoon are going for $18.

This is a very important lesson that was learned here: Never doubt The Thrills's powers.

More proof that Tortarella is a f***ing horrible coach. That said, I want Canada or North America to win it all.

FINALLY get a day off to watch some hockey. The Czech team seemed overmatched all game long. Mrazek kept them in it as well as he could. The ice in the 2nd looked like total shit. Also, this North American team looks BA. The youth, the skill, the speed, the all black unis. Looking mean. Them vs. Canada should be outstanding, and if they win would be among the bigger upsets in hockey. Not that they aren't great, but Team Canada is pretty much a freight train in international hockey right now.

Also, I still hate 3-on-3 hockey in OT. I get that they're trying to force a score, but it's just really watered down hockey. The ice is wide open and it takes no skill to get a great scoring chance. There's very little nuance or strategy. 4-on-4 to a shootout, both of which still involves a lot of skill and strategy, would be better IMO. 3-on-3 hockey would be like football OTs going to 7-on-7s.

I'm so sick of Melrose and his knuckle-dragging ways. He's practically jerking off to this game getting more chippy, and loved Markov going after MacKinnon for no real reason. He confuses anything chippy for competitiveness. No one would be happy if somebody on their team was out for a month or two because of some bullshit in an international game. On the plus side, I've really enjoyed Levy and was pleasantly surprised by Buccigross's ability to call a game. I still wish the NHL could find a way to be on ESPN.

F*** 3 on 3, and f*** shootouts. Having a shootout decide a game is like having a dunk contest decide a basketball game, it's a bullshit gimmick idea that waters down the game.

The shootout is a decent compromise, though. There's no real risk of injury. It ends the game quickly after OT. It gives more closure than ties. If anything, it's exactly like PKs in soccer. Only the goalies actually have a decent shot at making a save. It's short, exciting, skill-on-skill as a last resort after OT. There's no real way to defend in 3-on-3. Guys can just stand in one spot and take one-timers in great scoring areas.
