Trouba wants out of Winnipeg. Chia pls.... Roy wanted him for the Avs pretty bad if I recall. If the Jets want to take Varly off our hands so Picks can be starter, well, I won't cry.

I miss when Canada was the team that came up short in these tourneys.
It's so tiresome and dull seeing these guys win all the damn time.
A fire hydrant could play goal for Canada and they'd win.

I don't miss the days when Team Canada management made current Team USA management look like a super team composed of Scotty Bowman, Sam Pollak, Lou Lamoriello, Glen Sather, Al Arbour, and Anatoli Tarasov in there primes. I shudder thinking of the days of 1998 and 2006. Todd Bertuzzi or Kris Draper over Sidney Crosby? Mother of God.

I do find it ridiculous Toews has a 46-1-1 record when playing for Team Canada in international hockey...

Team Canada vs. Team Europe for the championship.
Pretty sure Canada wins this without even trying.

Well they have Ralph Krueger and he used to coach the Swiss teams that would upset Canada or made Canada barely beat them. Seriously this tournament better give Ralph Krueger a NHL head coach job next season. I don't think a coach ever got a bigger raw deal outside of the coach that was forced to tank for Lemieux

Which kinda makes me bummed that Team North America didn't make it to the semis. I honestly think that the kids could've pulled an upset over Canada.

I think Kreuger has too much on his plate as the chairman of Southampton, so I doubt he'd have time for an NHL head coaching role.

Game 1 tonight - it's not quite the Ryder Cup when it comes to European unity, but a cheeky upset will do nicely for Europe...

Jesus just started watching during the second half of this game and Canada doesn't look so dominate anymore for once. Krueger may actually coach his way to a victory if they can beat Price.

The Trouba situation is interesting because the Jets seemingly want like for like, but 22-year-old, left shot defencemen with a ton of upside don't grow on trees.
If Winnipeg is hellbent on a young D-man, I think you could work something out with Edmonton and Darnell Nurse, but Edmonton would certainly hafta pony up more.
I'd love to see the Leafs make a play, but I don't think there's a fit. Toronto won't be interested in moving what the Jets would ask for. The Leafs certainly wouldn't deal Rielly and - if Winnipeg were to look at forwards - the likes of Nylander and Marner would be off the board, too.

The Leafs certainly wouldn't deal Rielly and - if Winnipeg were to look at forwards - the likes of Nylander and Marner would be off the board, too. Let Toronto's farm grow. Like it's a blessing they didn't sign Stamko's to a mega contract considering how good everyone in Toronto looked in the World Cup compared to Stamko's. This season for Toronto minimum goal should like Buffalo's of last season where they have a massive point improvement and should aim for squeaking into the playoffs. But they have to play it by year in terms of seeing how there prospects play, get a veteran of someone of like a Ryan O Reilly caliber, and play it by ear on trading younger pieces for other pieces. Like Toronto already addressed there goalie situation with Enroth and Andersen and I think Reilly and Gardiner are already better then Trouba. The Oilers need to overpay and possibly lose a trade for Trouba because they have to be in must win mode right now. They don't want to be the laughing stock of making an NHL record of most consecutive missed post seasons, Eberle and Nuge's 7th and 6th straight missed post season furthering cementing the culture of losing, and ruin the luster of Edmonton's upswing in the free agent market in terms of Connor McDavid and the New Arena. Playoffs this year in the first year of Rogers Place would nearly double Edmonton's reputation to sign amongst players. Like if it takes Nurse and a 2nd or Nurse and Yakupov then yeah lets do it American Strong Style. I think Trouba is the final piece to get The Oilers into the post season. Like I still believe if McDavid played a full season then the Oilers would of been only 7 points out of the playoffs. If McDavid and Klefblom both played a full season they might of squeaked in. A team that added Larsson, Trouba, Lucic, Maroon, and a full season of McDavid and Klefblom should make them a playoff team for sure.
