"You wouldn't like *Insert Internet Darling* here if WWE pushed them" is the stupidest contrarian viewpoint. Totally incorrect and ridiculous to imply. If they got the push, there'd be less unrest. People sure hated when that Internet Darling Daniel Bryan defeated triple H and then batista and orton on the same day.

I'm sure being someone's fan means belittle their star at any given chance. just because you like someone, doesn't mean you can't criticize them. and on the topic, Vince force feeding Roman Reigns to me, made me forget how bad it was when he force fed John Cena to me.

I can understand the booking complaints.
I only found it a bit weird a fan would dismiss him not being a draw (as of note, from Meltzer's site, Reigns is no.2 on merchandise, and last week's third hour did less than 3M when he wasn't on it)

I'm basing this entirely on posts I see on here.
Roman Reigns is the male Nikki Bella. Spotty wrestler with the "he deserves to be pushed...I mean look how much better they're getting" thing.
So a weak comparison but I'm half asleep.

He was really exposed as not being ready when they put him up against a workhorse like Cesaro. He had to slow down so much to make that match work

The hilarious thing is that he was on track to get himself over and naturally lead into main events.
Then they started toying with him and pushing him too hard and its de-railed any natural momentum.

I'll give the guy the credit he has vastly improved in ring this year in singles matches and I have no problem with him in main events now because of this.
I'm not a fan though and will continue to support guys I like like Ambrose, Cesaro, Owens etc over him. He still has the stink on him and it hasn't washed off for me.

I could care less, a push is a push. It's a three-pronged attack. Subliminal, liminal, and superliminal. Isn't that right LT Smash

I would be fine with him if he was allowed to grow in the mid card naturally for another 1-2 years. Whats the rush??? It seems the Mcmahons just can't operate without the forced baby face pushes, shoving it down the fans throat until they can't take it anymore.

No matter how much he improves, i cant see him ever being accepted by most of the IWC. He is going to be shoved down our throats for the forseeable future.

WWE is pushing Roman like he's your grandma trying to set you up with her bridge partner's niece.
I'm sure she's nice and all, but there's nothing less cool and edgy than being told "You'll like her, she's a nice girl!"
And that's the problem. Roman's "personality" (use the term loosely) is that of an edgy badass cool guy asskicker, but you've basically got your grandma telling you how much you should admire him and boo on you for not getting behind him.
If they did a better job in how they're pushing him, more people (not all, but more) would be receptive to him.
Its just bad branding, tbh. They've got this product they want everyone to think is a total badass and everyone should be in awe of how cool he is. But they're promoting him like he's a good wholesome product that just happens to be a great athlete. They're basically pimping him like Poochy.

-Vince McMahon. I say this as a Roman fan, but the way he is booked is really just Vince telling us how great he is. He will not get over as a face like this. Every time I watch him, it feels like I am at a used car dealership, with Vince telling me all these great things about him. He could be the #1 face right now, but is still not there. He is over produced in every way. The verbiage is clearly Vince's, they make him say "ass" a lot because they have deemed that cool. All the commentators put him over like a god (even the heel ones). Fans can tell when the WWE is telling them to like someone, just let me cheer for him because I like him, not because you want me to. And if they were verbally blowing Kevin Owens and begging you to love him, you wouldn't suddenly turn on him... I wouldn't turn on him. He's got the part of the unabashed bully down pat. Plus, it's fun to yell "RUN OWENS RUN" when he leaves the ring to walk away.

The constant sucking of Reigns' knob by the WWE is one of the reasons I can't take to him. He's good in the ring, has good matches, has good moves but WWE insisting I like him and think he's the coolest person since The Fonz instantly makes me want to root against him. Well, he could always turn heel, become the Corporate Chumpion and then settle into a popular tweener role, ala The Rock. He can even keep the "Believe dat babygirl" wink but it will be cooler as a tweener move.

Is it just a universally accepted thing that Reigns is great in the ring, now? Dude still bores the hell out of me. I'm with you there. In what I've seen of him recently, he's gotten very good at the limited things he can do. He'll never be a complete wrestler like Cesaro, Owens, and many many other great talent they have, so perhaps his niche is exactly what they're doing with him. I mean the kids and girls love him.

Just go for it with him. If it fails, it fails. If it succeeds that's another person from the 90s you don't need to beg to come back.

Why they just dont let roman wrestle? if yesterday he just came out and had the same match with cesaro I think that people would had been more positive with him, but since they made him cut that horrible promo before the match people were reminded on why he has some hate

WWE feels that if they make Roman the corporate Champion, then they "have" to make him a sniveling, weasel, chickenshit heel who cries to Daddy H and Mommy Steph and they don't want to do that. Making Roman Look Really Strong and Make Sure Everyone Knows HHH and Steph are the REAL Top Heels in the Company are two objectives that would contradict each other.
