-Vince McMahon.
I say this as a Roman fan, but the way he is booked is really just Vince telling us how great he is. He will not get over as a face like this. Every time I watch him, it feels like I am at a used car dealership, with Vince telling me all these great things about him. He could be the #1 face right now, but is still not there.
He is over produced in every way. The verbiage is clearly Vince's, they make him say "ass" a lot because they have deemed that cool. All the commentators put him over like a god (even the heel ones).
Fans can tell when the WWE is telling them to like someone, just let me cheer for him because I like him, not because you want me to.

It's just not believable to me to see Reigns be "the guy" right now. In the Cesaro match it just felt like Cesaro was purely there trying to make him look great, same with most of his matches. It's like in a game when you're a small character and you beat this gigantic boss by doing a few movements, the boss is the one moving around and doing the most stuff the entire fight. The boss is also the one who makes the match look epic, you're just dodging, do a move, dodge again, stuff like that. That's kinda how Roman's matches are. His opponents are the ones doing the movements, he gets in a hit or two but he's not in control and when he does get a hit he does the most he can with that hit. Given this, I'm not sure when it'll change because honestly speaking most of Cena's matches are the same way but with Cena he's a bit more offensive at times and even when he wasn't great in the ring his match style wasn't like that.
He's gotten better but that's all I can see with his matches now. I don't know whether they want him to get constantly beaten up like tonight's match with Cesaro or be some monster powerhouse or what, I don't get it. The match was supposed to say "Reigns overcame this guy who's the best in the ring, he overcame his assault so he's earned his spot especially with the guy shaking his hand" but in my eyes I was thinking "Cesaro looks more amazing than ever, he should be in that spot, wow he's amazing" instead.

Yes, Roman is pretty good. Don't know about great but he's had a ton of good matches this year. Kudos to both men for the match tonight.

Because we already know that Owens has the talent to justify being given blowjobs, verbal or otherwise. I'll give Reigns props for improving, but he's only improved because WWE is so desperate to make fetch happen that he inevitably became decent just by virtue of constant screen time to actually work his craft. Reigns could be Jackie Gayda levels of horrible and WWE would still try to say he's the greatest thing since sliced bread. |
