They also offered CM Punk a job when he left WWE.

Actual reply, the way they word it is kind of negative and making fun, so if she does go into porn she should go with a competitor. The Ziggler stuff more complimentary I recall. I guess Brazzers has a wrestling mark as the social media person, if not for that I guess this topic would be about another company. So... good on them for that I guess? Yeah, there's definitely a tenor of 'porn is the only thing you're good for.' f*** off with that crap, dude. I never thought I'd care enough to defend Eva Marie but anyone who acts like her current storyline isn't working to perfection is just deluded. Yeah, I refuse to give the 'E credit for Eva coming back to NXT and getting this much (go away) heat like they planned it this way. You can say it's "working to perfection", but I'd say this is just a case of good luck for them.

Yeah, the crowd being dead silent for Alberto for years on end sure kept WWE from throwing tons of money to bring him back or from continuing to have him beat people the crowd actually cares about. I don't really have much against Eva Marie because I don't think I've ever actually watched one of her matches, but WWE will push who they want to regardless of how the crowd reacts. Hunter, and his team to be fair, are smarter than that in their own little bubble. They weren't going to do an underdog story with her and so they went meta. From her second or third match, the story went from "Eva is improving" to "Oooh... Eva sucks. The crowd hates this." If Full Sail would stop playing along, the whole thing falls apart. Not singling you out, but just saying as a generality: Telling people who paid good money to go to a show and not react to people (whether it's " crowd reaction" or legit dislike) is ridiculous. Unfortunately for me, I would think the only way to make them change their minds is stop watching / unsubscribing, but clearly drops in ratings aren't giving them the hint either.

NXT isn't WWE from a creative standpoint. They took hated Bo Dalls and turned his exit into one of the funniest, memorable moments in the brand's history. They've earned the benefit of the doubt here.

Heat. People are reacting, people are making noise, and that's what Hunter wants. If Full Sail really wanted to end her push, they'd be silent. You'd think they're savvy enough to know that no reaction is always worse. And people are talking about Reid Flair's death being mentioned on Raw, doesn't mean it's any good. I mean, it is blatant go-away heat, but at least it's heat. Need I post the Del Rio in UK gif? Any heat may be better than no heat, but will Eva Marie's ever translate to the main roster? Most times she appeared on Raw or SmackDown the crowd seemed to not give a shit. We've learned from several examples now that just because you can get a reaction in NXT doesn't mean it'll carry on when you get to the main roster.

Why the hell would Brazzers want Eva Marie? Sure, she looks good, but the second she gets on top everyone will whine about it, never watch again, and keep talking about how her partner should have done a scene with this one random amateur who uploaded their video to YouPorn because she has more indy cred. Now I'm just imagining that there are porn counterparts of every wrestler. It reminds me of the time someone edited Dave Meltzer's Wikipedia to change every instance of the word "wrestling" and its variations to "cocksucking" and its variations.

If they wanted to be playful they could have said something about the crowd reaction, but instead it's "when you inevitably fail, go do porn". Besides, between her WWE and Total Diva contracts, the photoshoots she does, the advertising stuff she does...the girl must be making some good money right now.

Even in that industry, she'd still probably be the worst actor.

it's "if you give her a belt I'm unsubscribing" heat. NXT's never been that great with the storyline aspect for title matches - Paige/Emma, Charlotte/Nattie, Sasha/Charlotte. All of those had little to no story involved. It just depended on reliable workers and knowledgeable agents. We know NXT's women division can deliver match quality. I kinda wanna see a fun story now. Paige and Emma didn't have a great story, but it was a rivalry based out of comeptition. Charlotte/Nattie was the end of a tournament, so no real need for story there. Sasha/Charlotte had a good story to me. Sasha was one of the founders of the BFFs and then Charlotte came along and leapfrogged her to the title. Charlotte then turned face and stopped doing the BFF things with Sasha and they clashed over the belt.

I think internet favourites are tipped to be top stars on the main roster because they're talented, not because a crowd reaction from a few hundred people in Florida.

Actual angles are left for secondary feuds like Bayley/Emma and Dana/Asuka. Which is mostly great. It puts over the title but I wouldn't mind if they went a different route.

But that's also the point, they are tipped to be top stars solely on talent, not because of anything else in the matter. By contrast, yesterday should be the best example. November 19, 2015 was one of the biggest wrestling news days this year. In one day, you had La Sombra signing with NXT, TNA surviving another year by getting a new timeslot, and in the process knocking Paragon Pro Wrestling to another network, rumors of Austin Aries and Gunner showing up at the NXT tapings (albeit which didn't come to pass)...and yet, the single biggest wrestling story by far on every member of the IWC's mind was "Please don't let the wrestler I hate beat the wrestler I like in tonight's match!". ...if that REALLY doesn't prove to you how much value there is in Eva Marie as a heel, then you just don't get pro wrestling and you never will.

I'm sorry if I'm just thick and "just don't get pro wrestling" (hopefully will someday), but how does Eva being pushed add monetary (which is the bottom line reason for operation) value? Not asking to be an asshole, I really just don't understand it. Because of her outside of wrestling work?

Speak for yourself, I didn't really give a damn. As for Eva Marie, people don't want to see her. She won't put asses in seats or ratings on the board so her "value" is diddily squat. And by your theory, WWE should just do everything poorly as long as it draws heat. Let's do an ISIS storyline. Bring back The Great Khali and have him hold all the titles. It'll get heat, right? EDIT: Oh and please Mr. Internet Man, get it into my little brain what pro-wrestling is. The 15 years I've been watching it clearly meant nothing compared to some guy on a forum explaining it all to me!
