Best bet is that it was probably Adam Pearce who was the agent for this. He's very old school NWA with everything that he does.

The thing about 'smart' wrestling fans is, much like the average sports fan, they're not nearly as smart as they think they are.

Well maybe you're smart if you reject the bad and welcome the good. Eva Marie was a horrible wrestler and deserved what she got. But if the company turn it around and make it good, it's gonna be recognized and people will welcome it?
