NXT even does 98-Russo-booking better than the main roster

It was great. I knew deep down Eva wasn't winning because this site would have exploded. Had that been live, I would have needed a lie down after it.

The beauty in WWE, compared to most "work rate" companies that happen to also be around at the time, is that they recognize that a well paced story is way more memorable than a random good match. Hence why so much more people have such fond memories of 80's WWF and their characters than some random "realistic and hard hitting" NWA match and their "Real wrestlers".

This is why people give NXT the benifit of the doubt. They play to someone's strengths and use them to the story's advantage.
Where as if this were the main roster, you'd stealthly be called a stupid contraian piece of shit by commentary and the storyline in general for not supporting Eva.

But I thought WWE was supposed to listen to the crowd.
If they did that, this main event never would have happened.

But I thought WWE was supposed to listen to the crowd. If they did that, this main event never would have happened. they saw she was being booed hard, and decided to push as a Heel on the main event. But sometimes there is no issued in giving someone that is not getting reactions,a chance.

It's true. They took what was an angle and match I was totally against, 180'd it and made me say, "Oh, well that's ok then."
And while Eva may be the only person they could use due to her legit fan hate, she can't do it again, so I still don't want to see her on my TV. She's served her purpose; NXT booking is responsible for this success. All she did was be inept and lothesome enough to make it work. I hope she doesn't go back to being booked as NXTs female Ryback, squashing jobbers and forced down our throats.
Good job Eva. Now go the f**k far away.

I agree. If you noticed the fans were on their feet for the pretty much the whole match.

Years is stretching it I think. The fun ref bumps for example reminded me of the Survivor Series main event last year, which was masterfully done. And personally I found the main event of Summerslam 2014 to be perfectly booked, etc.
This Eva/Bayley match was very well booked though, fun stuff.

It helps that Eva Marie is so hate by the NXT crowd that they fell for the con even though they think they are to smart to fall for it.

I don't think anyone's falling for anything, they just like booing Eva Marie.
The act of booing itself involves a bit of playing along. It's not exactly natural. Like if you get bad food at a restaurant you don't stand up and start booing the restaurant.

Part of me still wishes they'd have given her the belt and made her start calling her reign the Eva's Revolution.

In a way I'm quite sad that wasn't at London because, while it would easily have been the worst divas Takeover match, the atmosphere would have been incredible to watch live. Going in knowing Eva wasn't winning was the biggest flaw.
It was a really well booked match. That was attitude era to the max. Or maybe ECW; it played to the competitors strengths and hid their weaknesses. Eva still looked like she was in slow motion, but she didn't botch anything and took a move off the top rope which should be commended. The NXT ref took a heck of a bump when he was pulled to the outside by Nia Jax. The story was great. A worthy Main Event.
Funny PWTorch (who I usually agree with or at least like reading) absolutely hated it.

Naw, folks were falling for it. Just they don't want to admit to it and lose their smark creds. They turned back into markish kids instead of the normal too cool for school bunch they try to come off as.

As I said in the general NXT thread, the workrate was awful but the booking was basically flawless. I still wish that Eva suddenly wakes up one day and realizes she wants to do...well, anything, other than wrestle. But if she never has that epiphany, then making her character "completely terrible, inept egotist who has to rely on a 250-lb bodyguard and corrupt management to have any success" is the right way to go.
