It's not creative, it's Vince. Everything creative writes Vince takes out what he doesn't like, puts in what he does like and then that's what they go with so at the end of the day it's Vince more than anybody. It's the same thing Triple H does with NXT but you see how much better NXT is, it's because Triple H knows what works unlike Vince.

I think Vince probably thinks these shows are masterpieces and is baffled that people are tuning out. He's surrounded himself with yes men for so long I doubt he can process the idea of people not liking what he deems a winner.

I think it's less about Triple H knowing what works and more him actually trusting the people he CHOSE to work on his show.

Triple H knows how to work with people. He knows that in certain circumstances he won't have the right idea. He can collaborate. Vince can't. If you're not doing things his way then you shouldn't even step into the building. That's the biggest problem with the main roster. Vince probably also thinks creative sucks, but doesn't realize that he's the problem more than anything or anyone else.

I can't agree with it all being Vince's fault even if he really does ruin any chances of decent long-term story-telling.

I can only assume it must be "creative" that writes the terrible promos that often undermine characters?

I can't imagine a scenario where Vince watches old cartoons with his Grandkids and hears the line "sufferin succotash" prompting him to take a nearby crayon and write a promo for Reigns there and then.

Even away from that one example they can't seem to write for a character properly.
Well I can only assume the likes of New Day and Owens come up with their own stuff, perhaps it's really the work of a genius Hollywood writer, it's all guess work really.

if it's true that he changes his mind up until showtime it's hard to workshop an idea when you have to come up with, write, and get it approved within an hour of airing.

A few years ago, we had a thread in which someone had spotted a former Creative writer who was basically doing an Ask Me Anything on GameFaqs or some other site (only thing I know for sure is it wasn't Reddit). In the thread that was linked on here, the guy laid out a lot of actually interesting ideas he and his fellow crew had that didn't go through because of Vince. I really wish we could dig that thread up because its actually concrete proof that the writers can and HAVE actually had good ideas when there are too many people who keep unfairly attacking them with quite frankly offensive vitriol.
