Another good strategy game is Galactic Civilization II. Its a bit old, but it just got updated. Any major issues with glitches and stuff? I downloaded 3 last year and it was a pain in the arse to get working. Had to download a new font pack because the games fonts weren't working with my computer, had to download some other installation to stop it bugging... there were like 4 different things I had to download and install just in order to play the game. And even then it bugged out on me half-way through a campaign and kept freezing. For the time I played it though, I really enjoyed it so if #2 has no problems I might actually give it a try at some point.

And looking into the forum, one or two people ran into a small issue. Overall though, it runs great for everyone, me included.

I was really into #3 until it kept crashing on me so I'll definitely give it a download some time.

Big Rigs is, at the very least, the most hilarious racing game ever. You can drive up mountains, go a trillion mph backwards in reverse and no matter what goes down, you're winner.

Among the old school games I would love to get my kids to play are:
X-Com (the original one) Bard's Tale Dragon Wars Star Flight Wasteland Mines of Titan Elite
And if I could find an uncorrupted copy of Moonbase I would be a very happy camper.
