I know he's not everyone's favourite but come on. He deserves better than what he got tonight. 2 refs in his pocket and he was down for the count about 10 times.
I can't see him ever recovering from this to a legit main eventer ever again

They really damaged sheamus tonight, besides I'm starting to think that the league of nations will only be rusev and ADR from now on

I like Sheamus enough, but I preferred him losing over "Sheamus wins just so Roman would have to enter the Rumble, win it, and win the belt back at WrestleMania".

Seamus needs a WCW to go to stay fresh. But alas.

I don't think they view Fella as anything more than a mid card piece. It's clear they've given up on him so this won't hurt him too much in relation to where he'll stay on the card in the future.

As somebody in the thread said, dude was getting his ass whooped like he was Zach Ryder. It wasn't even that Roman looked strong, Sheamus just looked like a dude that loses a lot on Superstars.

I feel like it was irreversible well before this wreck...

I mean Ambrose beat the guy in a cage match after he and his goons laid out Ambrose prior, 2 Brogue Kicks and all the interference in the middle of the match. Then again, Ambrose is #2 on the kayfabe ranking tier of full-time guys so it depends. Sheamus is a joke though. I don't know what he's gotta do to redeem himself but he was 4th fiddle in that match tonight.
Sheamus was Curtis Axel in the Punk/Heyman feud tonight.

He's out of the title picture that's for damn sure. In fact, I don't even know what him and his stable will be doing at Wrestlemania. I mean, with the New Day and the social outcast stable all heels, is it possible that the Wyatts turn face and there's your 4 on 4 match for WM?

Prrrreeetty sure WWE took the hint and realizes this guy is not main event caliber, as they've shown no inclination to protect him at all. He was Irish Zack Ryder tonight.

He's been treated as a joke. When it's so obvious that you were only given the MITB and the title as a 'break in case of emergency' transitional champion you don't really have much lower to go.
Just go to Japan already, Sheamus. They're never going to book that dude with any sense.

He really needs to go to Japan, they'd love him over there since he's actually a really good brawler.

I mean this is what the direct opposite of 50/50 booking looks like. They had no interest in protecting Fella which I think is the right decision. Sheamus ain't going to be a main eventer so they sacrifice what ever little heat he had left and give to their new chosen one.

Nothing in wrestling is irreversible, all you need is a month or so of good buildup and everything in the past is forgiven and forgotten.

Sheamus has definitely been in worse positions. At least for me, I actually like seeing him come out most of the time, I definitely cringe a lot less when he's around than I used to.
It's Wrestlemania season and WWE's attempt to make him a top heel failed too hard for him to now be going tit for tat with Reigns right now, Sheamus is more valuable right now as Roman Reigns' punching bag than as a threat, when Wrestlemania season is over and the stakes aren't as high they can try to rebuild him again, but as long as he's around Reigns at this point I don't think it's gonna help to have Sheamus stand tall over him very much if at all.

Sheamus is fine as a mid carder providing good matches.. Thats about where he belongs. He already received way too many unwarranted pushes over the past few years. Hes not as good as his pushes merited and it probably had something to do with being workout buddies with HHH

He hasn't been a legit main event guy since WM28 and the crowd shitting all over him. Even this title run was nothing more than a bandaid when Seth went down and they had to double check their Mania plans.

Sheamus could have been a more credible world champion but the WWE's booking killed him, pushed too hard, too fast and trying to use him to kill Bryan's heat is something he'll never recover from. It sucks as the guy is undeniably talented and passionate about what he's doing, but they tried to make him into Hunter O'Helmsley and he never really recovered, no matter how often they gave him a world title.

Sheamus is good, but he had no business challenging for, let alone holding, the title in 2015. Orton's out for awhile. Let Sheamus be the upper midcarder in chief for awhile. He can be Megatron to Rusev's Starscream in the LoN.
