I like it but I fear they will end up making this the new normal. The guy winning the Mania shot here has become a bit of joke because they don't win. I worry they'll see putting the title on the line as restoring the meaning of the Rumble, while finding a different way to name his challenger for Wrestlemania. What if they said, "Okay, as the Rumble winner, you automatically have a title match at WrestleMania, like it or not. "But we'll give you [time frame] to pick your own challenger." From there, you have a few built-in angles: the cowardly champion who picks a midcarder, but gets suckered/goaded into a Triple Threat; the lunatic champion who aims to slay a beast like Lesnar; the Rocky story where the indifferent champion gives a hard working journeyman a million-to-one shot; the guy who picks his hated rival for one last dance...

I'm glad of the change only because I was getting tired of the Wrestlemania main event stipulation.

In isolation, on paper, it's a great idea, adds crazy excitement to the event.
In actuality, it makes it 1000 times more telegraphed who the winner's going to be.

It is kind of bullshit to put the title on the line in a match where so much is dependend on luck of the draw, but it's not like shitty stipulations have ever stopped anyone in WWE.

Incidentally, if we don't get a fair to flair reference I call bullshit.
My choice...Heyman joins commentary during the rumble..."That's not fair to Les...nair"

It's like most of the really interesting ideas that come from WWE.
It goes from 'Man, this sounds great' to 'So how are they going to screw it up?' in record time.
It also comes from a story line that makes little to no sense. Like, compared to Austin, Reigns has been an angel in terms of 'deserving' this much from the Authority.

Reigns will make every elimination and walk away champ. He needs to look strong.

It's a great idea but this is not a level playing field. This is all just a ploy to get Reigns over. Whether Cena wins the Rumble, Lesnar, HHH (the only 3 I see winning it over Reigns) it will all go back to Reigns anyway. That's why I can't get too excited.
