That's a shame. One of the creepiest dudes I can remember from my childhood. Can't say he didn't live a long life, though. I think he got in one last jaunt as The Tall Man too. What a legend.

Only really familiar with him through the Phantasm movies, but loved his little appearance in "John Dies at the End".
Rest in peace, sir.

This one really bums me out. I love the Phantasm movies, they creeped me out as a kid.

As much as this really bums me out to hear that the Tall Man has left this mortal coil, I'm not really surprised. The man was very old and from what I had heard, wasn't in the best of health for a while (hard to be in the best of health when you are in your 80s). He really did live a long life.
Despite that, it is still sad to hear of his passing and regretful that I was never able to meet Mr. Scrimm at a convention or anywhere like that.
RIP Angus Scrimm, you will be missed.
Despite this, iet's celebrate the man's life more than be sad that it has ended.

I think there's one he already filmed for that is still in post-production or something. I was talking about Angus Scrimm with a friend recently. Definitely a recognizable face in horror, he'll be missed.

A true legend in the hollowed halls of horror. Thank you Angus Scrimm.

Rest in peace Angus. I'm a huge Phantasm phan and was worried he wouldn't live to the premiere of the new one, but at least he had a very long life. I agree that we should celebrate his life rather than mourn its ending. I have the Tall Man action figure from NECA, it's really awesome. I also love him in Mindwarp and other roles. I hope this at least means the new Phantasm is released soon in his honor.

A real shame to see such a horror icon pass away. His smooth voice and mannerisms contrasting with the horrible things he did really made the Tall Man the memorable villain it was. I think it speaks volume about how great he was at being creepy that he inspired the early pictures of the Slenderman (back in the days when the character was actually creepy and not a jump-scare dispenser). By all accounts, Scrimm was paradoxically a very nice and polite person in real life, always taking time to talk with fans at conventions and stuff like that and very much enjoyed discussing his roles, and of course especially the Tall Man. That's a shame. One of the creepiest dudes I can remember from my childhood. Can't say he didn't live a long life, though. I think he got in one last jaunt as The Tall Man too. What a legend. I think there's one he already filmed for that is still in post-production or something. Yeah, Phantasm: Ravager. It's a bit weird though. It's apparently been near completion for a while now with several trailers and scenes being released, yet there haven't been any news since May despite the fact that the movie was supposed to be released in late 2015. Probably doesn't help that from the trailer, it looks like the film has a very, very low budget so I imagine it makes post-production more complicated.

I thought he died a while ago...like before the 1st Phantasm.
Scariest horror villain by FAR for me as a kid.

ahh, one of my all time favourite horror characters ..... MOVIE characters ..... the tall man was genuinely SCAAAAAAAAAAAARY to me, didn't help that the trailer for phantasm was showing alongside the evil bloody dead on tv!!! was well pleased when he was in ALIAS too, but it's the horror franchise that made mr scrimm, his loping walk, his strong gravelly voice ..... and his "try to kill me you jerks, i'll come back and get ya" attitude made me both afraid AND excited seeing him on screen! and i brought out the PHANTASM SPHERE dvd box set out a few weeks ago too, sitting proudly on my cabinet. unfortunate as it is, this will probably get RAVAGER brought out, in some form or another which will be a fitting epitaph for him being part of one of THE most inventive horror movies, a true horror giant, and a legendary figure ..... he'll be kicking the arses of those punk kids forever now rip my good man unfortunately the tall man NEVER rests

Yeah, like I'm falling for this shit.
I know how this ends. Just when I'm sure it's over, sitting there all comfortable and relaxed BOOM in he comes. No thanks.
