Every year during Rumble time, they mention that "Only 2 men have won the Royal Rumble from the Number 1 spot" and that "Shawn Michaels was one of them" then they get real quiet, because they can't mention the other guy.
At this point, they should just say that only one man has done it, it's not like it would be the first time they told a stat that was a half-truth or even an outright lie.

Or people could just deal with it. The Benoit situation is what it is.
Yes, he was there. No, he's not ever going into the Hall of Fame.
We don't need to make a federal case about it every time.

"There's only one man alive who has done it!"
No, that sounds shitty. nevermind
That said, shitty lines are right up Micheal Cole's alley.

The bigger injustice is when the Raw commentary team starts reading through the list of former NXT champions but fail to mention Bo Dallas or Big E.
They're right there on the roster! One of them is currently tag team champion of the world! Give them the recognition they so richly deserve!

You know the company is hoping one day they can say "this wrestler is the only man in the WWE that's won from number one" because technically once somebody does it, they will indeed be the only man currently competing who's accomplished the task.
Or they just need to stop saying it and say "Shawn Michaels was the first man ever to win from number one", makes it sound better.

I will never understand the fascination with wanting to seeing them mention Benoit's name.
HHH's thing of being afraid of kids/business partners asking Jeeves about things they hear on the show (like Chyna, Steph getting arrested, Submission Sorority). You really think they'd let Benoit be mentioned?

Or, maybe a guy who's coping with what his father did through leaning very hard on his accomplishments as a wrestler, because Chris Benoit The Performer is easier for someone to be proud to be the son of, than Chris Benoit The Guy Who Killed His Family. Far be it from me to shittalk a guy for how he's come to cope with something that horrible happening in his life. And for what it's worth, in searching on his twitter I can't actually find anything on his twitter involving "#remember" or the Royal Rumble as far as them ignoring him goes.

He may have deleted it, but it was on a Facebook page (I'm looking at it now). My mistake, he didn't hashtag "remember" he hashtagged "2004." And wanting to remember your dad is one thing, but expecting the WWE to mention him on air is deluded, arrogant and downright disrespectful to the two people he murdered. Fair enough you want to remember your dad in a positive light, don't expect everyone else to.

No the real injustice is that nobody seems to remember Flair's legendary feat of winning the title in the 1992 rumble.

That's because Chris Benoit killed his wife Nancy and son Daniel before taking his own life.
