Red flag at the end of Q2 as well, Hulkenberg's wheel fell off. The big story so far in qualifying is Lewis Hamilton not setting a time in Q1, so he'll have some work to do tomorrow if he wants a decent result. He'll still finish in the top three somehow, the Mercedes is that f***ing good.

Agreed, he does usually manage to get back up to the right end of the race and, unless he gets caught up in a first corner accident or whatever gremlins he had today put in an appearance, I don't expect tomorrow to be any different. Hopefully we'll get some good racing from him coming through the field.

The two Ferraris have hit each other at Turn 1, Hamilton and Grosjean get damage from it AND Ricciardo takes the lead off the start! Another chaotic beginning.

And Ricciardo has a puncture from debris on the track! This is insane.
The Safety Car is out to clean up all the mess everywhere.

Missed what seems to have been a ridiculous start to the race (turned my alarm off and went back to sleep), but I'm liking what's been going on since the safety car came in.

Rosberg takes his third straight win of three races this season. He's probably the championship favourite at this point.

Time for Bristol and if the Nationwide finish was anything to judge by, we're in for a hell of a race.

I am completely ticked off about the Indycar race, that bullshit call on Pagenaud just sent me over the edge.
On the other hand Carl Edwards wins a very good Bristol Race, and good to see a couple underdogs do well.

Tony Stewart has announced he will race next week at Richmond, and NASCAR has given him the waiver meaning if he wins a race and finishes in the top 30 in points he qualifies for "The Chase". Link right here.I for one hopes he makes that chase and wins the championship. Maybe then we can rid ourselves of the farce of the chase. Two years of drivers who didn't participate in the full season might be the wake up call.

I don't see a problem with the waiver, Guys in Football get hurt and come back strong all the time, how is this any different?

I'm not the biggest Stewart fan, but it's been weird without him. He always tends to make things interesting.

I don't see a problem with the waiver, Guys in Football get hurt and come back strong all the time, how is this any different? I think the perspective is a bit different. While racing is a team sport when you factor in the pit crew and shop workers, the credit goes to the driver. In football, or most other stick and ball sports, the team ultimately gets the credit when they win games and championships. To me, the waiver in NASCAR would be like if Usain Bolt injured himself in prelims, had another runner qualify and then Usain Bolt joins the finals to win a track meet. I don't want to sound like a bitter old school US open wheel fan, but I really hate the chase format.

Barber has become one of my favorite races on the schedule. Last few years have been great.
Also, Pagenaud kicking several kinds of ass this year. 2nd, 2nd, 1st, 1st.

I felt bad for Graham at the end. Just a bad spot to be in; it cost him the win. Still, the guy did fantastic today. Also, my boy JPM went from last to finish 5th. I love it, Maggle!
